ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE

 

Fracture has very simple 700 points to collect. You could easily rack them up in a day just playing on Casual (easy) difficulty as the game is relatively short and linear. The rest are dedicated to playing it on Hardcore and online multiplayer. The multiplayers can be boosted with a friend but they are very time consuming.

 

There are accumulative weapon achievements but nothing over 50 and they can also be unlocked at a "Weapons Testing Ground"  You will need to collect "Data Cells" to unlock all the weapons in the testing ground, but they are not difficult to find. I have provided a guide where to find them if you need one.

 

The last boss can be a pain, but there is a glitch you can use to defeat him easily without him ever touching you and you never run out of ammo. Even on Hardcore!

 

 

ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE

 

Complete Act 1 - 25 points

Complete Act 1.

 

If you want to do this easy, simply complete these on Casual. There are only 10 levels over three acts, so it is relatively short. The missions are very linear and there are a ton of checkpoints, so dying isn't a major problem. Read below if you want to know how to defeat the last boss easy, even on Hardcore.

 

**SPOILER ALERT**

 

The last boss (Sheridan) is annoying because there are "crawlers", huge crab-like creatures thrown into the equation. But there is a trick, where there is a sweet spot and the crawlers and the boss can't touch you at all, and you never run out of ammo.

 

You will have to do this quickly or the boss will move to position and attack you. As soon as you enter the arena, sprint to the ammo crate on your left. Tap RB only once to raise the terrain underneath the ammo crate, (anymore will slow you down) and jump up on TOP of the crate.  The boss should be a distance away. If he is really close (like almost on top of you) then you have been too slow. Reload and start again if this is the case.

 

Once you are on top of the crate, shoot the glowing parts on him and ALL the tower spikes around (about 5 of them) to reduce his health. The boss should be stomping the ground and the crawlers not spawning near you. Do not leave the crate and continue reloading and shooting. As you are on top of the crate, you will never run out of ammo. I finished him off in about five minutes with this method.

Von Helsing - 25 points

Crush an enemy to death with a spike.

You will need to throw a Spike Grenade beneath an enemy and it raises them to smash against a roof. Best spot I found was once you receive your first suit upgrade, you will jump up onto a platform where there will be a lot of enemies and a low roof.

 

Open Sesame - 25 points

Successfully open a physics or hinged gate for the first time in single player.

Story related. Can't miss this as you will get it during the tutorial.

Zapp! - 25 points

Successfully block (or unblock) an energy beam for the first time in single player.

 

Story related. Can't miss this as you will get it in the third act, when you need to lower and raise some energy beams as an objective.

 

Clap On/Clap Off - 25 points

Successfully used a TD switch for the first time in single player.

Story related. Can't miss this as you will get this in the first act. TD is Terrain Deformation. A TD switch is  an external switch on pillars that raise or lower the ground. Funnily enough I managed to unlock this while crossing a bridge, so go figure?

 

Combat Engineer - 25 points

Successfully raise/lower a bridge for the first time in single player.

 

Story related. Can't miss this as you will get it the first act when you use a spike grenade to lift a bridge.

 

Han Shoots First - 25 points

Kill an enemy by using TD and forcing them into the beam in single player.

Easily done in the third act. You will need to lower or raise some energy beams as an objective. Just knock any enemy using TD into the red or blue energy beams.

 

Use the Force … Field - 25 points

Kill someone by forcing them into a shield.

Just knock an enemy using TD into those orange force fields that appear in front of large gateways or entrances.

 

Collect a Data Cell - 5 points

Collect a data cell.

LOOK BELOW at end tab for a guide. Collecting data cells will unlock weapons at the Weapons Testing Ground. Don't worry if you miss a few, as you can use Mission Select to find the data cells you missed. It lists how many are left in each mission. The game automatically saves after you have picked up a cell, so there is no need to complete entire levels.

Deathrace 2161 - 15 points

Cumulative 25 kills running over enemies with the TDV-1.

This is easily done Recon Mission, Act 2. You will get a TDV vehicle. Just run over enemies and if you don't get it, just replay the mission. You can also get this achievement in the Weapons Testing Ground if you have unlocked it by the end of the mission or campaign. But you will need to collect data cells for it to be available.

 

Dragon’s Breath Specialist - 15 points

Cumulative 25 kills with the Dragon’s Breath.

The Dragon's Breath is the gun turret you sit in. There are quite a few in the story so getting 25 kills is not difficult. You can also get this achievement in the Weapons Testing Ground if you have unlocked it by the end of the campaign. But you will need to collect data cells for it to be available.

 

 

Mole Mine Specialist - 15 points

Cumulative 25 kills with Mole Mines.

All these weapon achievements are not difficult to get during the campaign. But some weapons don't last long. My suggestion is to collect ALL Data Cells and if you haven't unlocked some weapon achievements by the end of the campaign, then go to the Weapons Testing Ground and unlock them there.

 

 

WEAPONS TESTING GROUND

 

 

This level is available at the bottom of the start menu. Best to collect ALL Data Cells first to unlock ALL weapons, including the TDV vehicle and Dragons Breath turret gun. You will need to stand on the RED circle to summon enemies.

 

To have access to the Mole Mine, Rhino, Catapult (IFR -19) and ALM -37 Deep Freeze weapons, you will need to lower the orange force field at the rear of the ground. To do this, you need to destroy the two generators beside it powering the force field.

 

First step on the Dark Blue Circle , this will drop crates and containers into the Light Blue Circle. Then step on the Yellow Circle and this will suck the crates and containers into a big cannon in the middle of the testing ground. Use Terrain Deformation (TD) to angle the cannon towards one of the generators. It doesn't have to be precise as the cannon fires quite wide. Then step on the Green Circle to fire the cannon. Do the same for the next generator.

 

Once the shield is down, those weapons will be available at the back.

 

Rhino Specialist - 15 points

Cumulative 25 kills with the Rhino.

Catapult Specialist - 15 points

Cumulative 50 kills with the Catapult.

 

The Catapult is actually the IRF -19 gun. See "Mole Mine Specialist" achievement above.

 

ST-4 Torpedo Launcher Specialist - 15 points

Cumulative 50 kills with the ST-4 Torpedo Launcher.

Lodestone Specialist - 15 points

Cumulative 25 kills with the Lodestone.

The easiest gun I found for head shots is the Raptor. In the 1st Act after you destroy some AA guns, there will be Dragons Breath (mounted turret gun) where the enemies continually re-spawn. Just TD a mound and take 25 head shots while they mount the gun. Easy targets.

 

Pugilist - 15 points

Melee kill 10 enemies in a row.

Very easily done on the very first mission inside the prison. You will need to do 10 in a row, so just don't shoot anything.

 

What Goes Up - 25 points

Kill 5 Hydras while they’re in mid-air.

 

Hydra's are the ones with rockets and keep leaping around. This seemed difficult at first as they are quick in the air. But somehow I shot them just as they lifted up or almost landed.

 

Welcome to the Suck - 15 points

Kill 5 or more enemies with a single Vortex Grenade.

 

You first encounter one in Level 4, Act 1. Just throw it in the middle of the first group. If you miss, just reload the checkpoint.

 

Beware falling objects - 30 points

Kill an enemy using the Stomp Augmentation.

 

You will get the Stomp Augmentation as soon as Act 2 starts. Just jump near an enemy and hit the melee button "B" .

 

Super Soldier - 30 points

Acquire All Augmentations in the Game.

This is when you acquire all upgrades. This is story related so you can't really miss it. You will get this at beginning of the level, Washington DC.

 

MULTIPLAYER ACHIEVEMENTS

 

President of the USA - 25 points

Accumulate 100 Alliance Wins.

All these multiplayer achievements can be very time consuming. However it is possible to achieve them by boosting with a friend and selecting private matches.

COLLECTIBLES

 

 

ALCATRAZ - 8 DATA CELLS

 

  1. After you have found the sub-sonic grenade container, go left and lower the terrain in front of the building. It is in a hole in the wall.
  2. After you get the Bangalore, jump down and go left. There is a garage across from the destroyed shed. Lower the terrain and go beneath a partially closed door.
  3. Across from the garage, go straight and it is past the destroyed landing zone, in a corner.
  4. Behind the water tower in the back corner.
  5. In the prison. It is on the second floor at the end of the corridor.
  6. After you chase the general and drop through the roof. Turn around, it is on a walkway above.
  7. After you reach a broken prison wall and head outside, it is on your left.
  8. When you pick up the ST-4 (Rocket launcher) from an ammo crate, it is on the second floor of the building behind the crate.

 

DROPSHIP  DOWN - 8 DATA CELLS

 

  1. Right at the start of the mission, turn around. It is behind the crashed drop ship.
  2. On top of the second bunker with the AA gun.
  3. After destroying the AA guns, it is on the wall across from the AA bunkers.
  4. After a cutscene, you be confronted with a Dragon Breath turret gun. Look high above on your right on a broken platform. Raise the terrain near the wall on your left to reach it.
  5. Right of where you throw a Spike Grenade is a fortified bunker. Jump inside and it is at the end of the corridor.
  6. When you exit the tunnel, it is right in the corner on your right.
  7. When you shoot down the drop ship, it is in the cargo bay of that drop ship. lower the terrain in front  of it, to reach it.
  8. After defeating the Hydras, it is above the elevator entrance on a ledge. Use a Spike Grenade to reach it.

 

CONVEYOR TUNNELS - 11 DATA CELLS

 

  1. After crossing lava, it is on the tower on your right. You can see it while crossing. Use a Spike Grenade to reach it.
  2. Once you enter a second cart, jump off in the next area. It is below the conveyor track near a Bangalore crate.
  3. When the conveyor cart stops, look in the right hand corner, on a platform.
  4. After you destroy a bridge to reach higher ground, it is on the opposite platform. Use a Spike grenade to reach it.
  5. High on the platform above, before you reach a force field. Build a mound then stand on a spike grenade to reach it.
  6. At the end of the third platform, with a lot of enemies, before you re-activate the cart again.
  7. After your suit upgrade, you will jump on a platform with a lot of enemies and a low roof. It is in this room behind some yellow crates.
  8. After a small tunnel and you reach the room full of Hydras, to the left of the big door is a small room with a data cell.
  9. After destroying the Hydro Balls, you will jump a barrier. It is on a horizontal concrete beam near the ceiling. Use a Spike Grenade to reach it.
  10. After you reach outside, it is on top of a yellow crane.
  11. Across the broken bridge where the ship lands, to your left.

 

DREADNOUGHT TOWER -  9 DATA CELLS

 

  1. After getting the Vortex Grenade , it is underneath the large tower on the right hand side.
  2. Once you enter the building, it is behind some yellow containers to the right.
  3. To the left of the broken bridge, on a small ledge.
  4. Further on from the last data cell, on top of a building. Use the Entrencher Jump (tap A twice) to reach it.
  5. After you destroy a drop ship, jump over a barrier and then the next. It is on ledge to your right below some doors. There are some Hydras in this area.
  6. Once you go through a crashed drop ship, drop down and head right up a hill. It is behind some explosive barrels.
  7. After you follow a steep ramp down, and kill two Hydras. It is on top of the structure on your left.
  8. Hidden underneath the bunker ahead, from the last data cell. Lower the terrain to reach it.
  9. Once you raise the bridge, go uphill and it is on your left, just past the Bangalore crate.

 

DREADNOUGHT REVEALED - 7 DATA CELLS

 

  1. When you exit the tunnel, it is straight in front of you, underneath a round shelter.
  2. On top of the bridge support. where you need to destroy the Scramblers. Destroy the water tower, then jump on it to reach it.
  3. After the cutscene of the Dreadnought, turn left. It is in an alcove.
  4. At the bottom heel of the Dreadnought, on a  a ramp.
  5. When you get off the Dreadnought, it is the corner area, near the Alliance troops and a weapon crate.
  6. On the broken ruins to the right of the Dreadnought.
  7. Head to the extraction point, behind that building.

 

GENETIC RESEARCH BASE - 12 DATA CELLS

 

  1. Right at the start, turn around. It is on the roof of a small structure.
  2. After the cutscene, high above on a platform left of the facility entrance.
  3. After the cutscene with the crawlers, go right. It is hidden from view by some pipes.
  4. After you have destroyed the three generators, it is to the left of the door you need to enter. Turn around when you reach the entrance and you should see it.
  5. In the area where you get the ALM Freeze gun, there are "basement areas" on either side. Use a spike grenade to lift the grates, then jump down below into a corridor with enemies.
  6. Opposite of where the last data cell, but on the second floor. Use a Spike Grenade to lift the grates, but jump on top. You may need to raise the terrain underneath the Spike Grenade. A little tricky, but you should be able to jump into the balcony.
  7. Once you get the Lodestone gun, it is underneath a ramp where Creepers are.
  8. After you kill two tele-porting enemies, it is down the stairs, near a weapon crate.
  9. On a platform near the cliff wall at the end of the area where you use the Lodestone to move platforms.
  10. In the area where you need to break the orange force field with a ball, it is on a walkway left of where you start.
  11. After you destroy the shield, it is left on a platform in the next area next to a weapon crate.
  12. When you reach the last force field, head left up the hill. It is in the bunker ahead.

 

RECON - 20 DATA CELLS

 

  1. On a walkway to the right of where you start.
  2. As soon as you fall down from a broken bridge, it is across the river of XP - 61 (slime).
  3. After you use the TDV boost, it is on top of a building ahead.
  4. Move ahead, then look to your right. It is above high on a walkway. Just before you have to climb a steep hill.
  5. Just before you reach some more slime river, look high above on a catwalk crossing your path. It is on this catwalk.
  6. Just before your 2nd force field, to the left, high on a walkway.
  7. After destroying a drop ship and jumping a gap, it is in the wrecked drop ship ahead.
  8. After you cross some more slime, it is in the building on your left. You will have to jump inside to get to it. (Then you continue up hill)
  9. Just after the last data cell,  just ahead up the hill on top of a building. It is just before the area with two towers and a orange force field.
  10. In the area with the two towers and a force field, there is a large metal grate to the right of the force field. Use a TD to lift the grate up, then jump inside to find a data cell.
  11. Once inside the building with the green toxic, turn left then take another left. It is in the corner.
  12. Once you get the objective to deactivate  the computer, jump into the green toxic to your right with a laser fence. Follow this tunnel around to find a data cell at the end.
  13. Once you are back in the TDV, it is on the 2nd catwalk high above you.
  14. After the bridge collapses, it is on the right side, past two pillars.
  15. You will go under a walkway and you will see it on top.
  16. Once you come to a ramp, it is on your right on top of a platform.
  17. Once you jump a over a river of green toxic, it is on your left, inside the rubble of a wall, on the 2nd floor of a ruin.
  18. After you need to make a ramp to jump across, it is top of the tower platform on your right.
  19. After you leave the TDV, go through the doorway, then look left. It will below on a platform.
  20. In the same area, the next data cell is below the Heli-pad.

 

WASHINGTON DC - 10 DATA CELLS

 

  1. On the first floor of the first ruined building straight ahead.
  2. Opposite of the first data cell, in a building across, on the second floor.
  3. Head up the broken ramp walkway, and follow it to the end. Look left and you will see it on the 2nd floor of a burnt out building.
  4. On top of the broken section walkway. Right across from the last data cell.
  5. Move ahead and it is on the second floor of a ruined building in the middle.
  6. Move further down, before you need to turn left, there are two ruined buildings. This data cell is on the 3rd floor (roof) of the building on the right. It is very hard to see and reach! I used TD and a Spike Grenade to reach it.
  7. After dropping through the floor, it is on a catwalk.
  8. Move ahead and around some corners and you can just see it on a third storey catwalk.
  9. When you reach the courtyard, move to your left and it is behind a fenced alcove.
  10. Directly opposite of the last data cell, on the other side, in between two buildings.

 

GENETIC BEAMS - 7 DATA CELLS

 

  1. After the first room where you position the beams, head into the doorway on your left, then jump up onto the second floor through the hole. It is in the corner.
  2. In the 2nd room of beams, jump up to the balcony of the second floor. It is hidden in an small alcove.
  3. In the 3rd room of beams, it is at the end of the room. Opposite of the receptor.
  4. After you enter the next room with the force field (the generator room), backtrack a little and take the left hallway. Look above and jump onto the next floor.
  5. In a small alcove on the second level of the generator room
  6. Above the generator.
  7. In a room to the right when you enter.

 

TAKE DOWN THE DREADNOUGHT - 8 DATA CELLS

 

  1. It is in the first ruined building on your left, on the top floor, after the road block
  2. Across the street on the second floor of a ruined building.
  3. As you go underneath some huge rubble, the next data cell is the second floor to a building on your right.
  4. Straight across in a building on 2nd floor after you have recover the charges.
  5. As you jump from a window, to the next area, you will see it on the second floor of a building.
  6. In a building, on the right, just before the Dreadnought, on the bottom floor.
  7. In a building on the left, just before you reach the Dreadnought.
