INTRODUCTION:
This is an easy run through for a full 1000 in less than 10 hours and there is plenty to enjoy along the way. There are no known glitched achievements however there are a number of missable achievements. The Story Mode has no level reselect and hence there a number of achievements you must get on your first pass through or you will be forced to play through a second time. There are video links located HERE that will aid you in your play through, it is strongly suggested you follow them as there is no way to describe the locations of the opportunity hunts. Credit goes to burner6999 for these excellent video guides.
Story Mode: This will net you a large proportion of achievements along the way and provides a good level of variety on your way through.
Trophy Chase: There a number of animals that you will need to hunt and kill in Trophy Chase mode as well as a number of other related achievements. The aim here is to make your animal stand out when you go into the creator, make it as large as possible, increase the antler sizing only on one side its head and make it albino. The exception to this is the Caribou and Columbian Blacktail as it is a snow environment as well as the Mountain Goat as they are naturally white.
I also found that the Caribou Trophy Chase was nice and short as this wasn’t a very large map and used it to mop up any other achievements that were left straggling after completing the Trophy hunts.

Tracking Master - 35 points

You will be prompted in the first mission (tutorial) on how to examine an animal track by pressing (A) when you are over or adjacent to an animal track. If you are not sprinting you will be prompted throughout the game for additional animal tracks, make sure you do the 10 before leaving story mode as you will not be able to complete this in Trophy Chase mode. If you look for the animal tracks you should have this done by the beginning of the second region, Idaho.

You will need to make animal calls either for bird missions or some missions to try and lure animals towards you. Make it easier on yourself and bring up the instruction set on screen for the call you are about to make (left bumper if you left the controls as default Set 1). Press right trigger and then follow the prompts. You can sit there and bash out the complete 20 calls in one go if you like or you can play naturally and you will likely get this with normal progression through the Story Mode.

Casting Master - 35 points

In the fishing missions you will need to use your fish finder to locate a fish hotspot. You will then prompted to drop a buoy to mark the position. Then back the boat up to a full power cast distance. You will need to cast so that the hook lands in the white section of water around the buoy and you will hear the commentator / companion comment that it is a good cast, great cast, etc. You will want to cast as close to the buoy as this will result in larger fish which is helpful for the missions where you need a 38 pound and 100 pound single catch.
Make sure that you have completed this one before you move on from the 1x 100 pound Chinook Salmon mission in the Alaska region. If you miss it here you will need to start a new story mode as there are no fishing missions in the Trophy Chase mode. Alternatively you can sit there are and repeat 20 good casts once you get your distance right in any of the early missions, to make it go quicker after the cast press (X) to cut the line and continue casting.

Marksman - 35 points

When taking out your target animal make sure to use your Breath ability (left bumper on default controls Set 1) and aim for the vital organs that highlight on the animal. You can always reload from last checkpoint if you want to have another crack at it for the one shot kill. If you don’t get all the 20 one shot kills by the end of Story Mode you can always finish it off in Trophy Chase mode.
Trophy Seeker - 50 points
Gather 200 Trophy Points
This should unlock easily while progressing through the Story Mode, there are 440 points available in total and you got points for animal tracking, animal calls, kills, etc. This should unlock before you complete the second region Idaho, if not early in British Columbia if you have missed some things along the way.
Pheasant Hunter - 20 points
Complete all Pheasant hunts
There are 2 Pheasant hunting missions in Kansas Map 1 and an opportunity hunt in Kansas Map 2. The achievement will unlock on completion of the second hunt.
Turkey Hunter - 25 points
Complete all Turkey hunts
There are 3 Turkey hunting missions including, Kansas opportunity hunt in the second last map, Idaho opportunity hunt in the first map and Idaho opportunity hunt in the second last map.
Notorious Hunter - 35 points
Complete all optional hunts within at least one region
This will unlock after you complete the opportunity hunts in the Kansas region being the Pheasants in map 1 and Turkey hunts in the second last map. If you miss any just restart the region and redo. Follow the video guides and you can’t go wrong.
Opportunistic Hunter - 35 points
Explore and complete all the opportunity hunts
The last opportunity hunt is the 20 No Whitetail Ptarmigans in Alaska region in the same map you are tracking the brown bears. If you complete this mission and the achievement hasn’t popped you have missed something along the way. Again as said above follow the video guides and you can’t go wrong.
Shotgun Mastery - 10 points
Hunt 20 birds using the shotgun
You will get this with normal progression through the Story Mode. Make sure on bird hunts to use the shotgun, also don’t use the aim trigger and try and go for Quick Hunter achievement as well.
Quick Hunter - 50 points
Hunt 10 animals from the hip
Kill any animal without aiming first with the left trigger. Easiest done with shotgun on bird hunts, particularly the Ptarmigans in Alaska as there are plenty of birds flying around for you to shoot at with ample time limit as well. If you don’t finish this within the Story Mode you can always do it in the Trophy Chase mode with big game animals.
Rifle Mastery - 20 points
Hunt 10 Big Game Animals using the rifle
You will get this easily progressing through the Story Mode for any rifle kills you make, they don’t have to be one shot kills just the kill shot using a rifle.
Bow Mastery - 35 points
Hunt 5 animals using the bow
Simply kill any five animals using the Bow. If you don’t get this after completing the Story Mode you can simply use the Compound Bow or Recurve Bow in Trophy Chase Mode to rack up the remaining few kills you may need.
Handgun Mastery - 25 points
Hunt 5 Big Game Animals using the handgun
You will be prompted on a number of Story Mode missions to use a Handgun as you are on someone’s property. You can also try and kill other animals with a Handgun should you choose or you can simply wait until you get to Trophy Chase Mode and finish your remaining few kills you may need here.
Old School Hunter - 50 points
Hunt 10 Big Game Animals using iron sights
Pick any of the rifle weapons that are equipped with a scope, arm yourself with it and then press right on the D-pad to remove the scope. Now line your kill shots up the old fashioned way down the barrel of the rifle. Should you not complete this in Story Mode you can always complete it in Story Mode.
Gun Collector - 35 points
Hunt an animal using each firearm
You will need to kill an animal with every weapon type in your arsenal. This is easiest left until you get to Trophy Chase Mode. You want to choose the Pronghorn Antelope Trophy Chase as there are other animals called Javelinas (they look like a small black bush pig) that you can kill without ending the mission for killing other than the Trophy animal. Simply work your way through the weapons in an orderly manner until the achievement pops. You may want to leave this until after you have done each of the specific Trophy Chase animal hunts to reduce the number of plays you do. You will need to use all weapon types including handgun, bows, shotguns and rifles.

As described in the introduction above your goal is to create an animal that is going to stand out from the crowd to identify itself as your required Trophy kill. If you shoot anything other than the Trophy kill your hunt will be over and you will need to restart the hunt. Simply make it Albino except for the Mountain Goat (naturally white) and the Caribou and Columbian Blacktail (snow environment) and then give it a massive rack of antlers. I tended to only increase one side of the rack of antlers to make it even more obvious. Be sure to use the correct weapon and aim for one shot kills so as to work towards your other achievement Integrity detailed below.
You can use all your skill sets learned in Story Mode here including setting up Treestands, using calls, using decoys, scent cover etc, however it really isn’t necessary. Just blunder your way around the map until you find your target and take it out.
Integrity - 35 points
Hunt 10 trophies with 100% trophy integrity in Trophy Chase mode
The easiest ways to get a 100% Integrity on your kills is to make sure you get a one shot kill using the correct weapon through the vital organs or using a compound bow also through the vital organs. You will be given a score rating on your Integrity when you go and claim the trophy after shooting the animal dead.
When you bring up your backpack inventory and you hover over the weapon you are looking to use you will notice which animals that weapon is optimal for. Simply make sure you choose the correct weapon for each one. Simply repeat enough Trophy Chase missions until you have the required 10 100% Integrity kills.
