38) The Moose - 15 G - Follow Candy Edwards without using cover or going incognito.
I got this way late because i'm an idiot, haha. Basically, in the second Vice case, "The Set Up" after you stake out outside of her apartment, you will have to follow her. The thing that I didn't understand is that you simply don't have to take cover or go incognito, while still not being seen. So, basically, stay behind a wall without taking cover and move the right thumbstick to follow her movements, and then when she turns or is very far away you can pursue again. You don't have to follow for THAT long, but just remember to never take cover or go incognito (hiding via a storefront, newspaper, or shoe shine stand).
39) The Long Arm of the Law - 30 G - Complete all street crime cases.
These are all very short and most are easy. Again, it is easiest to just do all remaining ones in Free Roam mode. Remember, each desk has specific street crimes only available during them. Luckily, it will tell you when you are done all available street crimes in a current desk. When you get in a police car, the message in the top of the screen will say you have finished all available street crimes for the desk.
Only one more tip I can offer. When entering free roam mode, go to the map, and there should be a few street crime markers if you have yet to finish them all on that desk. They will be the red AOL man markers, haha, then simply drive there or set a nearby marker and have your partner drive there. If you have no markers, but know you haven't done all available crimes on that desk, just drive in a police car for a little bit and you will get a radio call for a case. Some cases only come up certain times of the day, too. Also, from what i experienced, if there are no more markers and you save and quit and come back in, there might be the markers for the remaining cases. It happened for me twice, but i don't know how sure that is.
40) The City of the Angels - 80 G - Reach 100% game completion.
This includes getting all cars, film reels, story cases, street crimes, landmarks, and newspapers. Newspapers are the only thing i do not cover in other achievement guides here, so i'll post those locations here:
In Patrol case "Upon Reflection" - in alley of first crime scene on the right side of the alley on a box
In Traffic case "Driver's Seat" - in the Black house on the dining room table
In Traffic case "Marriage Made in Heaven" - in Ray's cafe, sitting on the bar
In Traffic case "The Fallen Idol" - in Silver Screen props, on prop tables where shrunken heads are
In Homicide case "Red Lipstick Murder" - on the floor in the house of Celine Henry
In Homicide case "White Shoe Slaying" - in Ackerman's place at the Hobo Camp
In Vice case "The Black Caesar" - in Ramez Removals, sitting on the desk behind the desk with the ledger
In Vice case "The Set Up" - in the locker room at the boxing arena, on a table
In Vice case "Manifest Destiny" - when you're having to kill the renegade former squad members, you'll have to gun down two in an alley - before searching the bodies, pick up the newspaper
In Arson case "Walk in Elysian Fields" - at Morelli house fire, it's on the lawn
In Arson case "A Polite Invitation" - on Leland Monroe's desk when you fight your way through his mansion
In final case "A Different Kind of War" - on the desk inside Rapid Exterminators
In final case "A Different Kind of War" - on Fontaine's desk in his office/ crime scene
DLC Traffic Case - "A Slip of the Tongue"
41) Nowhere in a Hurry - 20 G - Stop Cliff Harrison before the police barricade.
This is how the case begins, chasing the suspect. You have a good amount of time to get this, and i crashed a couple times into objects and still caught up to him and got this my first time. So, just follow the standard bumping into the side of the car and having your partner shoot at it from the right window.
42) Femme Imbecile - 20 G - Correctly branch every interview question with Jean Archer.
The problem some people seem to have with this is that they never even see her. When you are leaving the police station after interviewing Belasco, you are told that Archer is down the street at a Western Union. So, simply run on foot and she will be in there. Then, when interviewing her, these are the responses:
stolen kaiser frazer - doubt
association with belasco - lie - belasco's ownership papers
stolen auto courier - doubt
43) Chop Shop - 20 G - Kill an enemy with the falling engine in the warehouse.
When the warehouse shootout begins, no one was under this for me. So, shoot a few times around some guys and make them move, and then look up and shoot the engine, and it should fall, explode and kill at least one enemy.
44) Racing for Pinks - 20 G - Find and inspect all pink slips in the case.
There are just three. Two are given to you by suspects, you just need to fully look them over and for the second one (during Belasco interview), examine both sides. Then, after the warehouse shootout, examine the box of them on the desk at the back top of the warehouse and it will unlock.
45) The Printer's Devil - 20 G - Complete "A Slip of the Tongue"
This is the story achievement for beating the mission. No specific rating needed.
DLC Vice Case - "The Naked City"
46) A Good-Looking Corpse - 20 G - Find all narcotics at Julia Randall's apartment.
There are actually only three. The first is the hardest. Before even going to her floor - when you enter the apartment building, on the left of the hallway is a trash can, examine it to find a morphine sourette. Examine it. In the apartment the coroner conversation mentions some, but i'm not sure if that counts. Then, in the bedroom, there is a pill on the floor at the foot of the bed, then a case on the table on the right side of the bed. Examine it to find sleeping pills, and examine it again to find a second compartment with a prescription. Bam. Achievement.
47) Fakeloo - 20 G - Tail Henry Arnett without being spotted.
Again, i'm a bad driver and got this my first time. Just keep your distance, don't hit any other cars, and you'll get this stage done without a problem. In car tails, the general golden distance is about half a block. At the end of tailing him with your car, he goes into a pawn shop and then you have to follow him on foot. Let him get a BIG lead, and just stay on your side of the street, because he crosses to your side, goes down the alley, turns, and it's over. So just keep your distance on that side of the street, then when he goes down the alley sprint to the edge of the building and look down with the camera only and when he turns again, move up.
48) Chauffeur Service - 20 G - Escort Heather to Swanson's apartment with the car taking no damage.
This is actually not hard at all, and i'm a pretty bad driver, ha. So, when the escort begins, simply turn on the police siren and drive very slow. It does not matter if it takes you three years to get there, this will still unlock. Plus, having the siren on makes cars all move out of the passing line to the curb lane. Usually, ha. Just drive slowly and carefully to be sure.
49) Give My Regards - 20 G - Shoot down every letter in sign at Broadway Motel.
As you are chasing the suspect at the end of the case up the rooftop, he climbs a ladder behind the giant BROADWAY letters at the top of the building. Instead of shooting him, which ends the case, shoot each letter one time first. The suspect stops on a platform about halfway up anyway, and then you can shoot him.
50) Eight Million Stories - 20 G - Complete "The Naked City."
Story achievement for finishing the case. No specific rating needed.
