Thoughts on Gameroom

So the gameroom comes out in a little over a week on the 24th. What do you think about this new addition to the xbox. And what do you think about the prices. Are they fair ? Also any games you hope they will bring back?

what is the game room do you get achievements? and i really dont understand what it actually is

basically in a nutshell its like a room with a bunch of retro game consoles and you can either buy a game for 200 pts i think or play a game for 40pts per play. They say that in the next 2 years there will be over 1000 games to play. I think that the achievements are room based meaning achievements such as play 200 games or something but im not sure. Maybe someone with a bit more intel could share what they know.

so their goin to be like our avatars in a room but we will be playing an arcade game? i guess that sounds alright if the games arnt a raping to buy the 200 points worth of content.

I think it is total waste of time. They are juct biting on the PSN Home crap that no one cares for. Like fine some people like that Sim's aspect to things but to make me pay you again to play the arcade games I already is crap. I already gave them 400 MSP ($5 USD) for many games like Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man & Rally X, but I want to play them through the Gameroom I have to buy them again for a 240 MSP ($3). So for me this is something I will be passing on as I will not pay MS three more dollars to play something I already paid $5 for and get nothing new out of it. No new game mode, no new achievements, no new graphics, no new nothing including money from me. As far as any okld school games I would like to see, TONS, but not as part of the Gameroom.

sounds like a money grab to me,i would rather just see more older games as regular arcade games so i can not only enjoy the game but also be able to get achievements

So as many of you I am sure have noticed Gameroom has been given achievements. A full 1000 at that. My question though is after going through them how much money does Microsoft think we are willing to spend for GS. I mean I have no way to confirm but would be willing to bet money on the themes and decorsations can only be won/bought through the Gameroom (i.e.- in game awards, gamerrom store). I mean I could be wrong but I can't imagine Microsoft handing out the Gameroom interface and the 1000GS for free. What do you guys think?

So after going through the list more thoroughly I have decided you have to spend money in the Gameroom in order to get the full 1000. There are total awards and reaching certain level chievos on top of the theme and decoration based ones. So spend money you don't wanna spend, spend time decorating and re decorating a fake room you don't care about. I mean some of these things are frigging ridiculous.

whatever... they must be pretty easy achievements. and im sure youve spent money on dlc you dont want or games you dont want.
