Dead Rising 2: Case 0 Achievement Guide

Time taken: 5 hours
Minimum Playthroughs: 1 but is extremely difficult due to time restrictions
Missable achievements: technically all of them
Cheats disable achievements: no known cheats




Still Creek saviour: 20G
Save all survivors in still Creek

There are a total of 12 survivors but two cannot be saved the ones that can be saved are as follows:
• Bob Blackrock (will be one of the last you can save he is the guy on the roof with the assault rifle)
• Darcie Blackrock (will be one of the last people you save appears at night time in the hunting shop, NOTE: shop must be unlocked first or she will not appear)
• Gemini Vargas (Is found in Dirty drink with her husband just talk to her a couple of times and she will join you, NOTE: when you get her back to the safe house she will give $15,000 and if you leave the safe house and re-enter she will be crying if you speak to her she will ask you to go get her gems from the quarantine zone and she will give you another $15,000)
• Fausto Vargas (Will be in dirty drink with his wife, you need give him two beers before he will join you)
• Jason Wong (Will be behind the department store in the parking lot after 5pm)
• Archie Eaton (Will be behind the department store in the parking lot after 5pm)
• Tia Hernandez (Will be in the bowling alley after 1pm you will have to take Sharon to her to get her to join you)
• Nikki Valentino (Will be in the bowling alley after 1pm you will have to take Sharon to her to get her to join you)
• Sharon Riesinger (after talking to Tia go to the quarantine zone NOTE: you will need zombrex another can be purchased for $25,000 from the pawn shop)
• Katey Greene (Is automatically saved)
The achievement will unlock when you take the last survivor to the safe house




We Ride to Fortune City: 20G
Escape still Creek with Katey

After you have finished collecting the bike parts examine the bike to start a cutscene then the endgame will begin complete this and the achievement will unlock
NOTE: can only be done after giving Katey Zombrex
Chop Shop 20G
Defeat Jed the mechanic
He will appear after you give Katey her Zombrax, he is simple enough is you have a gun keep you distance and shoot him if not use a hit and run tatic also do not be afraid to run inside the safe house for food to heal.




Zombie Hunter 10G
Kill 100 Zombies

Just kill 100 Zombies if you can’t do this you may as well just give up no offense




Zombie Exterminater 20G
Kill 1,000 Zombies

This is simply but can take up a significant amount of time out of your time limit if you aren’t fast enough a good thing to Know is that if you take the head off a zombie it will drop a queen which is a powerful weapon to say the least.




Small Town, Deep pockets 20G
Spend $100,000 in the Pawn shop

As the description says you must spend a total of $100,000 which can take a while just run around smashing the bandit machines and you will get enough eventually you will probably need another playthrough for this.
NOTE: this achievement does carry over between playthroughs but you must use the same save slot

Find and return a Motorbike part

The easiest part is the gas canister which is located next to the Gas pumps

Rebuild the Bike

The Bike Parts are as follows;
• Wheel- Obtained from Dick the Pawn Shop Owner for $5,000
• Handle Bars- Trade a broadsword for the handlebars from Archie.
• Engine- Found in the alley behind the Movie Theatre
• Bike Forks- Found in the Water Shed (key is in the Hotel top floor)
• Gasoline Canister- Found by a gas pump in front of the Gas Station.

Build a Combo weapon

For this you need to build a combo weapon there are nine in total but the quickest one for you to do is as soon as you gain control of chuck there will be a box of nails and a baseball bat in front of you simply grab them both and put them on the workbench just to the left and done



A bigger taste... 20G
Build all available Combo weapons

There are nine in total, you just have to build them there is no need to use them.
Drill Bucket - Drill + Bucket
Drill - on shelf in garage of safe house
Bucket - next to bathroom door in safe house
I.E.D - Propane tank + Box of Nails
Propane tank - outdoor area of safe house
Box of Nails - floor of garage in safe house
Molotov - Newspaper + Whiskey
Newspaper - in crosswalk in front of the gas station
Whiskey - Outdoor area of safe house
Air Horn - Pylon + Spray Paint
Pylon - parking area entrance between Uncle Bill's Dept. Store and the theater
Spray Paint - roof of safe house (climb ladder in closet of the store/front counter area)
Beer Hat - Beer + Hard Hat
Beer - inside The Dirty Drink on bar (next door to gas station)
Hard hat - Rooftops (Climb trashcan behind the casino to A/C unit to awning, around to casino awning, to hotel awning, to diner awning, to diner ledge, to diner roof. Keep travelling around and over a metal bridge and its on the corner of that building)
Electric Rake - Leaf Rake + Car Battery
Leaf rake - outdoor area of safe house behind a stack of cars
Car battery - head toward the roadblock area, and enter the last alley on your left. Go around and its on top of a dumpster
Boomstick - Shotgun + Pitchfork
Shotgun - in glass case in Bob's Fish n Hunt (see hard hat for rooftop entry) or upstairs of sheriff's office
Pitchfork - Big Buck Hardware on shelf
Paddle Saw Chain saw + Paddle
Chain saw - Big Buck Hardware on counter
Paddle - from safe house door, cross the street and its on a ledge beside the first building there, in the back corner
Spiked Bat - Baseball bat + Box of Nails
Baseball bat - in garage of safe house
Box of nails - in garage of safe house




Locksmith 20G
Unlock all doors in Still Creek

There are 5 locks in still creek non of which are perticulary hard to find if you explore but here is a list anyway
• Water Shed: Key obtained from finding it in the last room in the Still Creek Hotel.
• Movie Theatre: Enter the Movie Theatre's front entrance and go through the back door.
• Bob’s Fish ‘n Hunt: Climb to the Corner store's roof, where Bob is. Travel along the awnings until you reach the awning above Momma's Diner. Travel across the rooftops until you see another awning adjacent to the Department Store. Climb to the roof of the Hunting Store, drop down and open the front door.
• Sheriff's Office: Climb the dumpster next to Bowling Alley, and hop the fence. Travel through the alley until you reach the Sheriff's Office and open the door.
• Pawn Shop: Save Dick Jone from the zombies, and he'll open his Pawn Shop.




Clueless no More 10G
Buy a clue from Dick, the Pawnshop Owner

This is simple enough after you save Dick after delivering the Motor bike chassis he will open his shop he will sell you two clues but you only need one the first one costs $1,000 and the second will cost $2,000

Having just beat this I have a few valuable time saving tips:

Zombie Exterminator - after you find the Zombrex from the tipped over ambulance, you will get the push cart with the broken bike inside. The push cart will never break, meaning you can just run around the city in a circle mowing down zombies with it until you get 1,000 kills. This is the second achievement I got, maybe 10-15 minutes after starting a game.

Still Creek Saivor - Bob will vanish after 7pm and you'll have to reload an earlier save file or do a new playthrough, so you want to make sure you talk to him on the roof top around 6:45pm or so

Small Town, Deep Pockets - The slot machines in the casino and the department store will respawn everytime you save and then reload that save. So basically:

1. Go to the casino
2. play the slots until they quit paying out
3. smash them and the ATMs up for their money
4. run to the department store
5. play the slots until they quit paying out, then smash them up for their money
6. go to the nearby bathroom and save
7. reload the save, and all the machines will be back up again
8. repeat this process until you have $100k, should take less than 10 minutes as well

If you do all these, this is EASILY a one playthrough game and not three minimum like some people have been reporting.
