Mafia 2 Achievement Guide

[New Found Terror]

+ Estimated achievement difficulty: 4/10.
+ Offline: 47 (1000).
+ Online: 0.
+ Approximate amount of time to 1000: 15 + hrs
+ Minimum number of complete play throughs needed: 1, but you may need to clean up some missing collectables with level select after completion.
+ Number of missable achievements: 4 these are only missable when going through the chapter the first time. You can always reload and get the achievement later.

Mafia II has 3 difficulty levels. Easy, Medium and Hard. I started the game on hard and had no problem going through the game. Just remember to use your cover and take your time. You can get about 800 - 900 G on your first playthrough. There are videos all over YouTube to help with the Playboys and wanted posters. I will post the link for you to view. Thanks and credit goes to Achievement Hunter and savgcom for the videos from YouTube. I waited until I finished the game to collect the wanted posters cause you can collect them at anytime. The Playboys I got as I went through the chapters, as they are chapter sensitive. The achievements are in order of the way I got them so you can kinda see how I went through the game. This is my first attempt at a guide so I hope it helps.


ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE

Viva la Resistenza! – 20G
Complete Chapter 1

Big Brother – 10G
Protect Francesca
Part of the story can’t miss.

A Real Gentleman – 10G
Help the woman fix her car in Home Sweet Home.
This achievement is missable. When you are going to see Joe at his apartment, you will see a couple arguing. The man will be trying to fix the car as the lady is standing next to him. Watch them fit, her husband will leave after awhile. When he is gone step up to the car and press X. You will fix the car and get the achievement.

Collector’s Item – 10G
Find at least one collectible in the game.
You will get this when you find your first playboy or wanted poster.

Back in Business – 10G
Do your first job for Mike Bruski.
Part of the story can’t miss.

Proper Scrapper – 10G
Sell 5 vehicles to Mike Bruski at the scrap yard.
Once you do your first job for mike look around the scrap yard for cars to scrap. You can grab any car you see. Except the one you got for Mike of course.

Home Sweet Home – 20G
Complete Chapter 2.

He Who Pays the Barber – 10G
Improve the dockworkers’ haircuts.
Part of the story can’t miss.

The Professional – 10G
Obtain the ration stamps without raising the alarm.
Once you make it inside you will see two guards at the front desk. One guard will get up and start walking up the stairs. When he heads up the stairs hug the left wall after him. Silently take him out at the top of the stairs. Now there is another guard upstairs. Depending on how fast you took out the first guard the second guard will be in the men’s room taking care of business on the right side of the floor or right on the other side of the stairs on the 2nd floor doing his rounds. After you take out the guards on the 2nd floor go back down and take out the guard you walk past the front desk. You are now alone and free to roam.

Mail Man – 10 G
Sell all the gas stamps before the time runs out.
This is a missable achievement. If you sell all the stamps before time runs out you will get the achievement. This isn’t that hard; all you need to make is six stops. Start with the closest one and work your way around. If you miss it reload the mission.

Get Rich or Die Flyin’ – 10 G
Get all wheels of your car into the air for at least 20 meters and then touch the ground again.

The Price of Oil – 20 G
Complete Chapter 3.

Night Shift – 20 G
Complete Chapter 4.

A Lesson in Manners – 10 G
Show that you know how to treat a lady.
This is a missable achievement. When you leave Joes apartment the women that was there is getting in a little confrontation out side with a gentleman acting not to gentlemen like. Walk up to them and teach him a lesson with your fist.

The Enforcer – 10 G
Kill 50 enemies.

Good Spirit – 20 G
Complete Chapter 5.

Time Well Spent – 20 G
Complete Chapter 6.

Last Respects – 30 G
Complete Chapter 7.

Exporter – 10 G
Sell 5 vehicles to Derek at the dock.
After you take care of the greasers find 4 more car to get this achievement.

The Wild Ones – 30 G
Complete Chapter 8.

Sharp Suiter – 10 G
Buy your first luxury suit.
During chapter 8 you will be asked to go buy a suit. The suit you need will be over $100. You should have a nice cash roll by now. Go and splurge on yourself.

Tuned Ride – 10 G
Upgrade one of your cars one level.
You only really need to do this to the fastest car available cause you’ll need the speed to get the 125mph achievement. You’ll want to do both upgrades to the same car.

Dream Handling – 10 G
Upgrade one of your cars to the maximum level.
Just do the tuning and motor upgrade to get this achievement.

Pedal to the Medal – 10 G
Travel at 125 mph.
After you get your fast drop top all tuned up hit the bridge and go fast!

Man of Honor – 30 G
Complete Chapter 9.

Hairdresser – 10 G
Kill 5 enemies in rapid succession with a headshot.
Get 5 headshots within 2-3 seconds of each other and this should be no problem. Lots of people to shot at in chapter 10.

Hey Joe – 10 G
Clean up after Joe.
This is NOT a missable achievement but you get no direction. Now after Joe accidently shots the bartender in his drinking rage, drag the body to the back and put him in the trunk. Now drop Joe off and get ride of the body.

Checking Out – 40 G
Complete Chapter 10.

Wake Up Call – 10 G
Help Leo out of a tricky situation without getting caught.
This is a missable achievement. Once you get control after the cut scene go straight, when you get to the pool table turn left. There is a door on the other side of the room on the left. Once you get in that room go to the laundry basket and press X. I will also supply a video below.

End of the Rainbow – 10 G
Settle the score with the Irish once and for all.
This is a missable achievement.
When you’re done in the bar go to the back and get the last guy that’s taken off in the car. As soon as you kill him you’ll get it.

Our Good Friend – 20 G
Complete Chapter 11.

Chasing the Dragon – 40 G
Complete Chapter 12.

Chop Chop! – 40 G
Complete Chapter 13.

The Mafia Never Forgets – 10 G
Pay a visit to an old friend.
Part of the story you can’t miss this.

Out for Justice – 30 G
Learn what it means to be a Scaletta.
Part of the story you can’t miss this.

Men at Work – 50 G
Complete Chapter 14.

Knucklehead – 10 G
Kill a total of 30 enemies using melee attacks.
You might not get this until the end if you play on hard, as it’s a little hard to get close to someone with a gun with out dying.

Tough Nut – 100 G
Finish the story on Hard difficulty level.

Made Man – 50 G
Finish the story on Medium difficulty level or higher.

Finish Him – 50 G
Finish what you started.
Just finish the game and you’ll get this.

Ladies’ Man – 40 G
Find all of the Playboy magazines.

Cruise Control – 10 G
Keep any vehicle at 30 mph or over for 5 or more minutes.

Petrol Head – 30 G
Drive at least 30 different vehicles.
A little harder then I thought. Just make sure you find different models cause they have every color combo on one make out there. Also you your stats screen in the pause menu to keep track.

Hard to Kill – 10 G
The police want you dead. Survive for 10 minutes!
The best way to do this is find an armored truck just let the cops shot you for 10 minutes.

Stuck Up – 10 G
Rob 5 stores in under 5 minutes.
This is really easy; just go somewhere that you have 5 stores kind of close to each other. When it comes down to it 5 minutes is a lot of time.

One Careful Owner – 10 G
Travel a total of 50 miles in one vehicle.
This is really really boring. Never get out of the car and make sure you have a full tank of gas. If you use the bridge like I did then you’ll make like 25 to 30 laps and the achievement should pop.

Card Sharp – 40 G
Find all the Wanted posters.
I didn’t do this until I finished the game. It took me about 4 hrs to get all of them. I will post the videos below.

I believe you can only get this achievement through buying a tailored suit from a store called Vangels. It doesn't show up on the map until you are near it.

It's 6-10 blocks NorthEast of Derek's office by the docks. They cost over $100, but are pretty snazzy. There is a mission that directs you to the store towards the middle of the game.

decent guide man. one suggestion is that you change the time for roadmap to at least 15+ hours. my 1k took around 20 hours and i took my sweet time. if someone thinks they can get most of it done in around 10, they might be a little upset to find that probably isnt the case. just my suggestion tho!

the time it will take for every1 is different depending on how they play, if you play story no stop and then get all achievements in 1 swipe you should have in 10-15 hours max but if you take your time messing about it would be more time consuming.

Thanks chadilac. I don't consider myself that good but my counter only hit 17 hrs with the 4 it took to collect all the wanted posters. I also wasn't in no hurry cause I was really enjoying the game. But thanks I'll put 10 - 15 and if most say it took more time then I'll change it to time consuming 20+.

No way in hell is anyone completing this game in 10-15hrs. the wanted posters take A LOT of time. 15+ is the minimum it should be

I finished the game on hard and got 960 G out of 1000 G in under 13hrs. Taking my time also. So if you grind it 15 hrs should be doable.

but how many wanted posters have you got? because they take a lot more time then most people realise

cool. the only reason i brought it up was because seeing a 10hr time on a game can be very misleading. i would rather an estimate be high than low. 15 seems a very good average for the game tho.

just to add this game is pretty well executed and should be enjoyed. hopefully tuesdays dlc will add more fun to a very solid game!
