All of the achievements for this game are simple and straight forward. It just takes a little bit of work to get some of them. There are only two achievements that I would say that are "hard." I have pointed them out in the guide below. (marked with a *)

I played the game with a regular controller. I am guessing from the game mechanics that a regular controller makes it easier than using the "fishing pole." I guess waving a stick around your living room could be fun though.

Tournament Mode Achievements

Advanced Angler - 30G
Completed the Rookie Season in Tournament mode.

Veteran Angler - 20G
Completed the Pro Season in Tournament mode.

Elite Angler - 30G
Completed the Legendary Season in Tournament mode.

Journeyman -30G
Drove your boat for more than 5 minutes during a Tournament mode event and finished in the top 5.
(Do this in the first Rookie event. The last five minutes of the round your competitors will most likely not catch a thing. So get a good lead and then drive around in your boat until the time runs out.)

Rookie Angler - 5G
Entered a Tournament mode event.

Victory! - 20G
Finished in 1st place in any event in Tournament mode.

First Steps -5G
Finished a Tournament mode event.

Driven - 25G
Completed all events in the first tier of any season in Tournament mode.

Intermediate Angler - 25G
Completed a tier in the Rookie Season of Tournament mode.

Good Sportsmanship - 30G
Completed all seasons in Tournament mode with 0 penalty points.
(You get penalty points for disturbing other competitors. Just make sure that you don't pull up too close to them while they are fishing. Also be sure to not start your boat if they pull up to you while you are fishing. You do get one warning per event.)

So Close, Yet So Far - 10G
Finished a Tournament mode event in 2nd or 3rd place.

Multitasking - 15G
Finished a Secondary Objective in a Tournament mode event.

Show Off - 30G
Won an event in Tournament without casting into a fishing spot.
(Find a fishing spot (green/yellow dot) and cast on the outskirts of the spot. Just be sure that when you cast your aiming circle is not green. You will still attract the fish from that spot, but won't get credit for casting into it.)

Friendly Angler - 10G
Finished the Rookie Season in Tournament mode with less than 3 penalty points.

Location Scout - 10G
Found and cast into 5 different fishing spots in an event in Tournament mode.

Lightning Catch -10G
Was the first competitor to catch a fish in a Tournament mode event.
(See Quick Catch Below)

Quick Catch - 30G
Caught a fish in under 1 minute from the start of an event in Tournament mode.
(Look for the closets Hot air Balloon. As long as you got the correct lure on you should have no problem on this one. Is easier on the Crappie tournaments because they are usually around 1 or 2 pounds.)

Confident? -15G
Weighed in early during a Tournament mode event.
(Just get back to the main dock before the initial time runs out.)

Is That Who I Think It is? - 10G
In Tournament Mode, begin fishing alongside each competitor on the lake while they are fishing.
(This is one of the tricky ones. You have to start fishing beside each competitor of the tournament. It is hard to keep track of them all, but it can be done. Start a rookie tournament event (they have the most time) and just concentrate on finding all of the other people. All you need to do is cast while beside them. You do not have to actually catch a fish.)

False Hope - 30G
Catch 5 fish during any tournament event Weigh In interval of time.
(Weigh In time starts after the initial clock runs out. You get ten minutes to do this in. Do it on a small fish tournament, crappie or small mouth bass)

Like a Sturgeon - 20G
Finish the Sturgeon Legends event in top 5 using only the 10 lbs. (4.5 Kg) fishing line.
(Good Luck. This is the hardest achievement in my opinion. This is a Proffesional Tournament and these things are 35 - 40 pounds at the smallest. Just take your time and keep the fish off the edges of the screen and you will eventually get it.)

Free Fishing Mode Achievements

Cast Master - 30G
Cast 500 times.

Pro Bass Angler - 20G
Caught at least 50 fish of any of the Bass species.

Top Challenger - 30G
Completed all the Challenges on any lake in Free Fishing mode.

Challenger - 5G
Completed a Challenge in Free Fishing mode.

Flying Fish -10G
Caught a fish of any species by flipping it into your boat.
(You get this technique during the Rookie season. It works on fish that are less than 6 pounds. When the camera changes to "out of water" keep the fish centered and you will see the gauge start to grow. Click the left thumbstick when it says to. It will turn off once the fish hits 4 feet.)

Flap Jack - 30G
Performed the Boat Flipping maneuver 20 times.
(See Flying Fish above)

Weather-Proof - 30G
Caught a fish in every one of these conditions: morning, noon, evening and sunny, overcast, rainy.
(This one just happens over time. No need to set the conditions manually.)

Hooking Perfection - 30G
Accumulated 30 perfect hooks.

Fish Lover -25G
Caught 5 fish of different species during any Tournament mode event or in Free Fishing mode.

It's a Monster! - 30G
Caught a Monster Fish of any species.
(These are depicted on the map as blue dots in free fishing mode. You have to catch a species of fish at least once to unlock that species "Monster fish". If you are watching the fish finder they will be blue fish in stead of gold/yellow)

True Legend - 30G
Catch all 30 Monster Fish.
(See "It's a Monster!" above)

The 10th Grade -10G
Caught a total of 10 fish.

The Captain -25G
Accumulated 1 hour of boat driving.
(I'm sure that this will come over time, but if you want to boost it. Tape the throttle (right trigger) down so that your boat is going real slow and rubberband the left stick to one side. You have to go slow or your boat will end up hitting land. This will pop once you start fishing again.)

Too Perfect! - 30G
Accumulated 30 perfect casts.

I Do Attract! - 30G
Kept a lure's attractiveness level at 90% or higher for more than 30 seconds during a retrieve.
(Enter free fishing mode and select the Original Floater lure. This has the "fast cranking" retrieval type. Cast as far as you can and pull back on the left stick during retrieval. Try to fish in an area with little to no fish.)

Isn't She Cute! - 10G
Raised a lure's attractiveness to its maximum level during a retrieve.
(See I Do Attract! above)

The Big One - 25G
Caught a record fish of any species.

The One That Got Away - 5G
Lost a fish.
(You can just cut your line after hooking a fish.)

Perfect Hook - 5G
Got a fish on your line with a perfect hook.

Something's Fishy - 10G
Found and cast into a fishing spot on any lake.

Original Feeling - 10G
Caught a fish with the Rapala® Original Floater® lure.

First Catch - 5G
Caught 1 fish of any species.

Perfect Form - 5G
Performed a perfect cast.

Need a Bigger Boat? - 30G
Catch 30 fish during any event in Tournament mode or during a single session in Free Fishing mode.

Bookworm - 10G
Enter into all categories in the Fish-O-Pedia.
(Make sure you go into the equipment section and push A on each type of equipment. They have sub-sections...)

Seeing Spots -20 G
Cast into at least 60% of all discovered fishing spots across all the lakes in any game mode.

Fashionista - 10G
Unlock every single clothing item for your male or female angler.
(You get clothing items from challenges and also tournament wins.)

Lure Master - 30G
Catch at least one fish, any fish, with every lure.

Master Challenger - 50G
Complete all Challenges on all lakes in single player Free Fishing mode.

Crap... I totally forgot about that one. Thanks for the reminder. I had put that game to the furthest corner of my mind. It truly made me want to punch babies... seriously...
