DefaultInternational Cricket 2010

So here's a guide for the 3rd cricket game om the xbox 360. It is again very similar to past cricket games and again it is very easy, it just takes a bit of time. The guide below will help you to gain all 1000gs in a reasonable quick way. If anyone has anything to add then please feel free and you will be credited. Without further ado here is my guide for International Cricket 2010:

Achievement difficulty: 2/10
Time for 1000: 10-15hrs

Notes:
-This game is a quick and easy 500 or so points (so it could be good competition material) but the remaining points can be quite a grind. Not difficult but very repetitive.
-This guide will rely on using England and its players. This is for the sake of me using them and getting the achievements. I know some aussie’s do not want to play as them so you will need to substitute in equivalent players =p.
- I find it easier to use the broadcast view setting for the camera.
- When bowling with spinners and seamers the delivery can be adjusted using the RT and LT buttons. When fielding, to catch, press a when the circle around the ball goes green to guarantee a catch.
- Where ever possible play on the easy difficulty setting.

Plan:
1 – Training. It might be a good idea for you to complete the training exercises first if you are new to cricket games. However, I find that the cricket mechanics are pretty simple to pick up after a game or 2 and the training exercises do drag on. So if you feel you need to, then do these first. Else I would stagger them between the other achievements as they are quite mundane.

2 – This will be your first game and will probably result in 480gs in about 3 hours if done right and 635gs in 4 hours. To do this select play cricket >tournaments > custom test series > easy > 2 matches. The teams I would suggest are playing as England against Bermuda.

For the first match you want to bowl first. The 2 bowlers to alternate between are Swann and Anderson. Bermuda appear to struggle with delivery’s around the feet from Swann and Yorkers from Anderson. The golden ducks (bowling people out for zero on the first ball) tend to occur at the lower end of the order. In the first bowling innings you will get the 5 wickets with one bowler achievement and should bowl them all out under 10 overs. Now it will come to batting. This is going to get a bit boring but it is easy points. You will want to get 300 runs with one player and 600 total. This is easy using the save method in which you can save at the end of each over. So save periodically, especially after a good over, and reload when you lose a wicket. Remember use the RB and RT to select the front or back foot. B is a lofted shot. By the time you get to 600 runs you will have the technique sorted and will probably have the consecutive 4’s and 6’s. Tips would be to always be aware of the fielders and gaps and where possible go in the direction of the wind. Once 600 total and 300 for one player are reached. Go to tactics and declare. Now you will be bowling again. You will only want to get wickets with one bowler here. To do this I had Swann actually aiming for wickets and had Anderson bowling bouncers and intentionally dropping the ball. Do this until Swann has all the wickets. (It is probable after this you will also have earned a hat-trick on the lower order).

Now you will be playing the second test of the of your custom series. Again bowl first and get them out. Then bat. The trick here is to get a respectable score, but one that Bermuda can achieve, then declare. Now make Bermuda get out for either all even or for a score where they are ahead by a small amount. Now before batting save (just in case) and you need to beat their score without losing a wicket. If a wicket is lost then reload and remember you can save after every over if needed.

3- Now do an ODI against Bermuda again but this time bat first. Use the save method to build your score up to 300+ runs and then allow yourself to be bowled out to save time. Now simply bowl out the other team. This will net you the ODI domination achievement.

4 – Now it’s grind time! There are 5 achievements left to get 4 are tournament related. I would suggest on your first 20 over match you bat first and get the 20 overs domination achievement and then for the rest of all the tournaments you bowl first as it makes it so much quicker. Enjoy the grind =)

Achievement breakdown:
Master of the Blade - 5 points
Successfully complete all batting lessons
Pretty self-explanatory

Master with the Ball - 5 points
Successfully complete all of the bowling lessons
Pretty self-explanatory

Dynamite in the Field - 5 points
Successfully complete all of the fielding lessons.
Pretty self-explanatory

Raise the Bat - 5 points
Score 50 runs in an innings with a single batsman in single player
See ‘The Triple Ton’

The Big 100 - 15 points
Score 100 runs in an innings with a single batsman in single player
See ‘The Triple Ton’

The Double Ton - 30 points
Score 200 runs in an innings with a single batsman in single player
See ‘The Triple Ton’

The Triple Ton - 40 points
Score 300 runs in an innings with a single batsman in single player
This is a bit of a grind. Use one of the England openers and save after every good over and periodically. Try not to play risky shots and take your time. This shouldn’t be to difficult in a test match against Bermuda. Remember to get the footing right and to keep an eye on the field.

Power Hitting - 10 points
Hit 6 fours in 6 consecutive deliveries in an innings in single player
The best way to do this is on the way to the 300 runs. Keep an eye on the field and on your footwork. Lofted shots are performed by pressing B. Tends to be shots back in the bowler’s direction use the front foot and perpendicular and behind the batsmen use the back foot, although that’s not a guarantee.

The Blazing Blade - 20 points
Hit 6 sixes in 6 consecutive deliveries in an innings in single player
Harder than the consecutive 4’s but in time you will get used to the timing of getting a perfect bat connection. Can only be done with lofted shots (B button). Again keep an eye on the field and it is easier if the lofted shots can go in the direction of the wind, although it is not necessary.

The Hat Trick - 40 points
Take 3 wickets in a row from one bowler in a match in single player
This is easily done using Swann on the England team against the bottom order of the Bermudan team (The last 4/5 batsmen). They tend to not like the ball pitching near the feet. Turning the ball in the air also seems to help with wicket taking.

Raise the Ball - 20 points
Take 5 wickets in an innings with a single bowler in single player
See ‘If You Want Something Done Right’

If You Want Something Done Right - 75 points
Take 10 wickets in an innings with a single bowler in single player
Again I advise using Swann. What you need is to have Swann going for all the wickets whilst your other bowler (Anderson for example) bowls bouncers and balls that are not likely to hit the wickets. Also intentionally drop all catches from Anderson’s bowling. This needs to be done in a test match in order to make sure Swann doesn’t have a limited number of overs.

Nought and Nought - 20 points
Dismiss a batsman for a duck twice in a Test Match in single player
See ‘King Pair’

King Pair - 40 points
Dismiss a batsman for a golden duck twice in a Test Match in single player
This has to be done in a test match, again I suggest England v Bermuda and using Swann. It is easier to bowl first and then making a note of everyone you have bowled out for a duck (for the nought and nought achievement) and a golden duck. Then in the 2nd innings you need to aim to do the same thing to the same batsmen. Save before your first ball to the batsmen and if you do not get him out either reload or move onto the next one (if you have any). Again pitch it into their feet and you should get this with ease against Bermuda’s bottom order.

Demolition with the Ball - 40 points
Bowl the opponent out in 10 overs or less in single player
Easily done against Bermuda with England. Use the pairing of Swann and Anderson to get the batsmen out as quickly as possible. If you are not good at using spinners use Anderson and Broad. Yorkers and Bouncers work well, Yorkers work better in my opinion. You could use the save technique for this but I wouldn’t think it necessary unless you get to the last over and have 9 out.

20 Overs Domination - 30 points
Score 200 runs or more in an innings of a 20 Overs Match in single player
Simple if you use the save method. Ideally use England v Bermuda and you must bat first else it is likely that you will bowl them out for a lot lower than 200. Keep sensible with the batting and save regularly. Reload if you feel you are behind your goal. Once 200 is achieved let the bowling bowl you out.

ODI Domination - 40 points
Score 300 runs or more in an innings of an ODI Match in single player
Again start a match England v Bermuda and choose to bat first. Bat sensibly and look at the field locations. Save periodically and reload if needed. Once you have the 300 runs it is likely that you will be no where near the 50 over limit so just move your player out the way and let the bowler bowl you out. This will just save you time.

Test Match Domination - 50 points
Score 600 runs or more in an innings of a Test Match in single player
The largest of the run achievements. This is best done at the same time as ‘The Triple Ton’. Just with all the other batting achievements use England v Bermuda. As it is a test match it doesn’t matter if you bat or bowl first but I suggest using the method detailed in the plan above. Be sensible, mix up your shots and directions. Save periodically and reload if things turn bad. This would be the worst run achievement to not save on and have to redo.

10 Wicket Defeat - 75 points
Win a Test Match by 10 wickets in single player
For this you will need to do a test match on easy as England v Bermuda (Surprise!). In this bowl Bermuda out and now bat and set a target that is reasonable for Bermuda to get and then declare. Now make sure Bermuda gets at least a few runs over your target (remember if needed just bowl a few no balls to give them a couple of runs). Now save and bat. Hopefully the target will be low and you can easily score the runs needed to win by 10 wickets. If you lose a wicket reload.

Innings Defeat - 75 points
Win a Test Match by an innings or more in single player
Again start a test match on easy with England v Bermuda. Bowl first and get all batsmen out for the lowest possible score. Now bat and set a reasonable target (Use the save and reload method if needed) for your opponents to get. You now need to bowl Bermuda out again without them making your target score. If done successfully the achievement is yours.

Champions Cup Champion - 50 points
Win a full-length Champions Cup in single player
This can be made a lot quicker by setting the match length to 5 overs. It is still lengthy but this makes it slightly easier. Not much advice I can give here other than remember to save after each game.

World 20 Overs Champion - 50 points
Win a full-length World 20 Overs in single player
This involves completing a world 20 overs tournament from start to finish. Not much advice I can give here other than remember to save after each game and bowling first can reduce the time needed.

20 Overs Super League Champion - 80 points
Win a full-length 20 Overs Super League in single player.
Not much advice I can give here other than remember to save after each game and bowling first can reduce the time needed.

World Trophy Champion - 100 points
Win a full-length World Trophy in single player
This can be made a lot quicker by setting the match length to 5 overs. It is still lengthy but this makes it slightly easier. Not much advice I can give here other than remember to save after each game and bowling first can reduce the time needed.

Test Series Champion - 80 points
Win a custom Test Series in single player
This is pretty self-explanatory. You need to go to tournaments and create a custom test series (2 games minimum) and win both of the games. Best incorporated into getting the other achievements (See the plan above).
