Forget street cred. There's a new school of respect. Gamer Cred, and this site will show how to get it the EASY way with little effort, because lets face it, this is the sole reason why we earn achievements....

 

In this feature I am going to show you some tricks that will elevate your status beyond the masses of Gamertags out there. Sure if you completed Ninja Gaiden II on the hardest difficulty, Gamer Cred would come naturally, but this site isn't about doing things very hard, it is about doing things EASY. Here are five steps to become a Gamer God and ooze Gamer Cred, without leaving the sofa.

 

STEP 1

GET A BIG TV SCREEN

 

If you have the money, go get the biggest in the store. I mean the meanest mother of a size. You will be amazed how many gamers are impressed straight away with the size of your screen. They will think you are serious about your gaming and not even glance at your score. The only slight drawback is that this trick is hard to convey online. One trick is to upload a video to YouTube with a zoom out shot.

 

STEP 2

GET A BIG SCORE

 

This is not hard as it sounds, just play everything and anything for points and it will come very quickly. When I mean everything, I mean EVERYTHING. There's no shame and if you do, you can easily gain about 20K every fortnight. There's no need to finish every game as the object is to get that score up into something respectable. Playing offline is the way to go here if you playing anything from Disney Pixar.

 

STEP 3

PLAY AND FINISH A HARD GAME

 

Wait a minute, did I not say this would be easy? Fear not, there are a few respectable games you can play on Hard, but where you can cheat to get the achievement of completing on a hard difficulty. Of course you NEVER mentioned you cheated. This is not mandatory, but it is pretty hard to earn respect if the only game you completed is Cars Mater-National.

 

GEARS OF WAR 2 INSANE DIFFICULTY

Play on co-op with your friend on Casual difficulty and you will get the achievement for Insane.

 

GHOST RECON ADVANCED WARFIGHTER HARD

Use the cheats of Invincibility while playing Hard, and you never die and still get the achievement for completing it on Hard.

 

HALO 3 LEGENDARY  DIFFICULTY

Almost a walk in the park if you play co-op with three other friends, and if one stays back, you keep re-spawning

 

STEP 4

BURY YOUR SHAMEFUL PAST

 

Now that your score is pretty high, time to bury your Hannah Montana's and Shrek the Third's down the list. Just stick in one of the above games or any respectable game you completed in your disc tray for a few spins then eject. Do this regularly and this will ensure these games stay on top of your games played list, should anyone glance at your Gamercard. Don't worry, no one ever scrolls past fifty games (cough)

 

STEP 5

JOIN A LEADERBOARD

 

That's right, time to step right in and blow everyone away. However the most respectable gamers are the ones most humble. If you wish to join our very own Leaderboard in our Forum, you need make two posts. Introduce yourself and reveal that you used Slam Da Brakes Five Easy Steps to gain Gamer Cred, and you'll be fine. That said, you are also free to join any other site Leaderboard and cause them pain with your score, by just rolling in there and saying nothing.
