Welcome to Colin McRae DiRT™, the next generation in the acclaimed Colin McRae series.You're in for much more than just rallying here, with six race disciplines to compete in, including some of the most extreme forms of off-road racing in the world. There are 3 main game types in DiRT, Career ,Championship and Rally world, racing in buggys to trucks so sit back and enjoy the ride.
There are 3 Xbox Live achievements that you unlock via playing ranked matches online, the kicker is that for some reason they seem to unlock also in a private game so just setup a game with a mate and happy days, an easy 60G.
Although this game isnt really that hard nor does it need an Achievement guide,I felt that every gamer deserves a little help now and then so with that in mind....
This Achievement Guide is for Colin McRae DiRT™. There are 49 Achievements worth a total of 1000 Points. This guide was completed with "Australia" set as the region in "Rookie mode" with the exception of the Easy Money tip (see Easy Money tip below #26).
ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE
1. Driven in excess of 100 miles - 5 points
Drive a total of 100 miles in career mode.
Refer to #2 to unlock this Achievement.
2. Driven in excess of 250 miles - 10 points
Drive a total of 250 miles in career mode.
These are pretty easy and you should get them just by playing through the Career or refer to #4 for further tips.
3. Driven in excess of 500 miles - 20 points
Drive a total of 500 miles in career mode.
Refer to #4 to unlock this Achievement.
4. Driven in excess of 1000 miles - 25 points
Drive a total of 1000 miles in career mode.
These are long and boring so my advise is to use the old rubber bands on the controller trick. I wont go into to much detail about this as many of you should know how to do this by now.
Basically you have your car just going round in a circle on the spot. Go to Career mode and select the first race,when you start the race just let everyone go. You are in a spot thats just off the main track and wont be bothered by the other cars so this is the best spot to do it in.If you dont want to rubber band it then doing the easy money tip below will help you along the way towards these ,just keep playing till they eventually pop.
5. Tier 2 Career Points Milestone - 10 points
Achieve maximum points up to the end of Tier 2 in career mode.

6.Tier 4 Career Points Milestone - 10 points
Achieve maximum points up to the end of Tier 4 in career mode.
Refer to #9 to unlock this Achievement.
7. Tier 6 Career Points Milestone - 20 points
Achieve maximum points up to the end of Tier 6 in career mode.
Refer to #9 to unlock this Achievement.
8. Tier 8 Career Points Milestone - 20 points
Achieve maximum points up to the end of Tier 8 in career mode.

9. Maximum Career Points Milestone - 45 points
Achieve maximum points up to the end of Tier 11 in career mode.
These will take a little while to get them all as you have to progress through every area (square) and get the maxium points for each square (66 squares in total). Just start your Career on Rookie and progress through each area getting 10 points in every square (winning your race). It shouldnt give you to much trouble on Rookie as they are pretty easy but as I said it just takes a while.
10. FWD Rally Veteran - 20 points
Win all FWD Rally events in career mode.

11. 4WD Rally Veteran - 20 points
Win all 4WD Rally events in career mode.
Refer to #23 to unlock this Achievement.
12. Classic Rally Veteran - 20 points
Win all Classic Rally events in career mode.

13. RWD Rally Veteran - 20 points
Win all RWD Rally events in career mode.

14. Rallycross Veteran - 20 points
Win all Rallycross events in career mode.

You unlock all of these Achievements at various stages by progressing through the Career so just play through on Rookie and you shouldnt have any problems unlocking these.
24. Own 15 Vehicles - 15 points
Own 15 vehicles in career mode.
Refer to #26 to unlock this Achievement.
25. Own 30 Vehicles - 30 points
Own 30 vehicles in career mode.
Refer to #26 to unlock this Achievement.
26. Own All Vehicles - 45 points
Own all of the vehicles in career mode.
Just use the "Easy Money" tip below by bigpns4u2day (thanks for the tip mate) on the achieve360points.com forums and you will get these no problems. Just progress through Tier 1's races on Rookie through to Pro building up your bankroll and keep unlocking new areas (squares) and buying the cars (you also get a couple for winning races so make sure you win each race).
You will recieve the last car on your last race in Career mode so this will take some time, just keep at it and you will unlock these Achievement.
The ranks are as follows:
Pro
Pro AM
Amateur
Clubman
Rookie
I will show you an example with the 1st race, if you race the Rookie level and get 3rd place you will win 50k. Race it again and get 2nd place and you get 100k. Now race it again get 1st place and you get 150k. (350K in total so far just for Rookie) Then move to the Clubman difficulty and do it all again, total $ would be 3 million dollars.
If you race Pro difficulty and get 1st place straight away you will get 350k but then all the difficulties under that will drop down by 3/4 of the winnings.So your total winnings would be 750k for the same race as above.
If you race on Amatuer and get 2nd you will get 200k,then the Amateur placings for 2nd & 3rd will go down by 3/4 winnings and all the difficulties under that by 3/4. Amateur 1st place will still be 250k and all the difficulties above that will still be the same.

27. First Podium Finish - 15 points
Achieve a podium finish in any game mode.
Set the game to Rookie in Career mode and just finish 3rd ,2nd or 1st to unlock this Achievement, you should get it easy in your first Career mode race.
28. First Victory - 15 points
Win a race in any game mode.
Same as #27 but instead you need to finish in 1st place to unlock this Achievement, you should get it easy in your first Career mode race.
29. Hat Trick - 3 Wins In A Row - 15 points
Win 3 races in a row in any game mode.
This one is very easy to unlock, just win the first race in Career mode on Rookie 3 times in a row and you will unlock this Achievement (also adds to your bankroll and helps with the xxxx miles Achievements and xx wins Achievements).
30. 5 Wins - 10 points
Win a total of 5 races in any game mode.
Refer to #32 to unlock this Achievement.
31. 10 Wins - 15 points
Win a total of 10 races in any game mode.
Refer to #32 to unlock this Achievement.
32. 20 Wins - 20 points
Win a total of 20 races in any game mode.
These are pretty easy, it just takes a little while. You can either win the first race in Career mode on either Rookie or Clubman 20 times and you will unlock these Achievements for a total of 45G (also adds to your bankroll and helps with the xxxx miles Achievements) or just progress through the Career on Rookie and win 20 races.
33. First 20m Jump - 15 points
Perform a jump over 20m (or equivalent feet) in any game mode.
You can get this in the first race in Career mode, just go flatout towards the dirt mounds and it should unlock without any problems when you land.
34. First Clean Race - 15 points
Complete a race without colliding with anything in any game mode.
Refer to #40 to unlock this Achievement.
35. Manual Transmission - 10 points
Win a race using manual transmission in any game mode.
This one is pretty easy to unlock, go to "Options" from the main menu and select "Profile Settings", set the transmission to . Now scroll to "Save Current Profile", press "A" and then yes to override the save. Once the race has started just press "A" to go up the greas and "B" to go back down, I used 2nd and 3rd for the whole race. Just do the first race in Career on Rookie (don't forget to change it back after the race unless you like a manual trans).
36. Top Speed - 10 points
Reach a speed of at least 135mph in a race in any game mode.
This one came later in the game for me.I got it on the "Rallycross - Classic", the "Valeo European Group B" race.The track was called "Knockhill", it was the second race using the "Lancia Delta S4".
When you come onto the last corner for the home straight just flaw it down the straight, don't even bother trying to turn the corner at the end of the straight as it will most likely just launch you over the barrier and reset the car back in the middle of the track for you anyway.It should unlock near the end of the straight.
37. All Tracks - 20 points
Race on every track (not including shakedown stages) in any game mode.
Pretty self explanatory ,just pick the shortest game mode and race all the tracks. I got this on Tier 10 square 1 (Alpinestars Pikes Peak Unlimited) in Career mode while I was heading towards the "Maximum Career Points Milestone" Achievement. It wasnt hard to get, just takes some time to get it.
38. First Xbox Live Rally Win - 20 points
Win a ranked rally race on Xbox Live.
Refer to #39 to unlock this Achievement.
39. First Xbox Live Hill Climb Win - 20 points
Win a ranked hill climb race on Xbox Live.
These achievements seem to be a little glitched like #40 and will unlock in a private race. Set up a private match, set it to "Rally" and invite a friend,have him let you win the race and you will unlock the "First Xbox Live Rally Win" Achievement, rinse and repeat but select "Rally/Hill Climb" this time.Go to voting and select a hill climb race (purple box) and just win the race to unlock the Achievement.
40. First Xbox Live Clean Race - 20 points
The player must complete a ranked race on Xbox Live without colliding with anything.
Pretty easy these 2, both the "First Clean Race" and "First Xbox Live Clean Race" can be unlocked in a private race with just yourself.
Load up a Multiplayer game from the menu, select XBOX Live Race then push right on the left thumb stick and scroll down to change the "Session Type" to Private Match. Select Rally for "Discipline" and push "A" to enter the game lobby. Scroll to voting and vote for the first track, hit "B" and the game should start in about 30+ seconds. Simply finish the race without hitting anything to unlock these 2 Achievements for a total of 35G.
41. Win Shell Rally Australia - 20 points
Win the Shell Rally Australia in Championship mode.
Refer to #46 to unlock this Achievement (Tier 9 Square 2).
42. Win Sparco Rally Espana - 20 points
Win the Sparco Rally Espana in Championship mode.
Refer to #46 to unlock this Achievement (Tier 5 Square 6).
43. Win Brembo Rallye Italia - 20 points
Win the Brembo Rallye Italia in Championship mode.
Refer to #46 to unlock this Achievement (Tier 8 Square 1).
44. Win Rally Deutschland - 20 points
Win the Rally Deutschland in Championship mode.
Refer to #46 to unlock this Achievement (Tier 8 square 4).
45. Win BP Ultimate Rally UK - 20 points
Win the BP Ultimate Rally UK in Championship mode.

46. Win Arai Japanese Alpine Rally - 20 points
Win the Arai Japanese Alpine Rally in Championship mode.
These are either typo's by the Devs or these are glitched.You can unlock these without any problems in Career mode instead of Championship mode like the Achievements state. Just progress through each area winning your races and you will unlock these along your way to the "Maximum Career Points Milestone"
Achievement listed the Tier and square they should unlock under each one (Tier 6 Square 1).
47. European Rally Champion - 25 points
Win the European Rally Championship.
Refer to #49 to unlock this Achievement.
48. International Rally Champion - 40 points
Win the International Rally Championship.
Refer to #49 to unlock this Achievement.
49. Global Rally Champion - 60 points
Win the Global Rally Championship.
Pretty self explanatory, load up Championship from the main menu and select the championship you want to complete. you have to complete and win the European, International then Global Championships which is very long and boring.
If you have finished the Career then you should have already unlocked the other championship Achievements so don't bother with National. The easiest way is to select European, short on Rookie and win the 15 races (3x5 races). Just keep at it as its not that hard on Rookie.
Make sure you select a good car as that's the car you will have to use for the entire 15 races, rinse and repeat with the International. The Global however is a sum of 30 races (6x5 races) so grab the cigs and the coffee, your going to need them, again selecting Rookie, short then you shouldn't have any problems unlocking these Achievements.
