If you follow this guide and do not deviate then you will get all of the achievements save for “Fast Play” which requires you to complete the game in under 5hrs. There may also be some additional work for you to do to ensure you get the “Chatty Chatty Mouth” achievement too.

 

The guide at gamepressure.com is extremely easy to follow. Be careful at Chapter 8 (the last chapter) with reference to which doors to go through. The writer seems to get confused over “left and right” which may also confuse you (it did for me!). It is easy enough to get it right though. I recommend you make a ‘save’ at the start of Chapter 8 when aiming for the “Fast Play” achievement if you’re getting close to the 5hrs – that way if you do mess it up then you can reload and have another go.

 

There are additional comments on some specific achievements that go over in a little more detail aspects missed in the guide referred to. Finally, I’d recommend saving the game to the hard drive. This is another game that suffers from load screens between every room and having it saved to the hard drive may shave off some load time.

 

So, following the guide will net you and easy 950 without any effort. If you can put yourself through it all again, then the remaining 50 G is yours – you will of course be safe in the knowledge that doing a second play-through will take you no longer than 5hrs!

 

Chatty chatty mouth - 50 points

Play 1000 dialogs

 

Dialogues refer to all interactions with objects and characters. Examine everything on the screen. Pressing the ‘back’ button makes it even easier because that will reveal all objects that you can interact with on the screen. When you examine the object, examine it again just for good measure because sometimes there will be a second comment on the same object.

 

Examining items in your inventory also produces dialogue so don’t forget to do that when you pick up or are given an item.

 

The guide will not point you towards items that do not need to be examined but you should if you’re aiming for this achievement, hence these additional comments. If you hammer the ‘examine’ button and talk to everyone you should get this towards the end of Chapter 6.

 

Divided and Conquered - 25 points

Win the "Divide and Conquer" game without losing any hand

 

Technically this is missable even if you’re following the guide there is still the chance you could mess it up. This is easy to overcome by saving before executing this trick. You will know when because it needs to be specifically selected in Chapter 4 in order to progress. Remember – the key to winning (as stated in the guide) is that if there are an odd number of cards then you must go first. If even, then your opponent can go first.

 

 

You should make money out of it - 25 points

Fully Succeed the Ball and Cup trick

 

I found the guide difficult to understand at first and it was pure luck that I got it first try. Again, just before you perform the trick be sure to save the game that way if you do mess up you can reload and have another go.

 

 

Fast Play - 50 points

Finish the game under 5 hours

 

This should be the last achievement to aim for on a second play-through. Unless you’re confident you can remember how you did the first time, just follow the guide again but with the following pointers;

 

1. Ignore the parts where the guide tells you how to get the ‘bonus’ points. That usually requires you to interact with things or to visit locations you don’t need to on this play-through. Skipping those parts will shave off quite a bit of time

 

2. Skip all the videos/cut scenes

 

3. Hammer the A button when possible to skip the dialogue

 

4. Save often – do so at the start of each chapter that way you can go back if you’re messing it up for some reason. Also, this game has a terrible tendency to freeze and if you’ve not saved it regularly, you’ll be the unfortunate recipient of having to reload a save that goes back a chapter or two (like me).
