Shrek the Third  is a simple platform game. You could easily knock out around about 500 points in an afternnoon. As with most games today, there are collect achievements, but also one or two annoying jumps to get them. The remaining 500 points just requires a liitle patience as you have to complete all 20 levels without dying, to get a perfect rating and collect what you have missed.

 

There is only one main tactic in these kind of games. Destroy everything. No matter how trivial some things might look, smash it up. Go out of your way and to the edge of your screen, before you move on. This will ensure you find all hidden items and reduce the need to repeat the level again.

 

ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE

Spoon Fed Ogre - 30 points

Complete the game in Charming Difficulty

 

Charming Difficulty is basically a cheat where you defeat most enemies with one shot or punch. But this costs 15,500 from the shop, so you will need to do a few levels before you can afford it.

 

My suggestion is to do it in normal then do Charming. Level Select will not unlock the achievement. You will have to do every mission in order. But it should not take that long with this cheat and you can collect anything you have missed the first time.

 

 

Glorious Liege - 80 points

Complete the game in Grimm Difficulty

 

Grimm Difficulty is the hardest setting. This only costs 1,500 from the shop, so you could do a few levels and then switch to Grimm, as there is no achievement for completing the game on normal, just an achievement for completing the game. Also you cannot do this with Level Select. You will have to do every mission in order for it to unlock.

 

 

Survivor Shrek - 60 points

Achieve a Perfect on every level (Normal difficulty or higher)

 

You need to complete each level without dying. Falling off the side or down a hole counts as dying. Charming will not unlock this as you  need to do it on normal or higher.

 

You do not have to do this in order as you can use level select for this. My suggestion is when you switch to Grimm above, try and do many as you can. Then switch back to normal and use level select on the levels you missed.

Hail to the King! - 60 points

Complete all 20 missions of the game for the first time in any difficulty

 

Just complete the game on any difficulty.

 

 

Questing Rookie - 40 points

Complete 33% of the Challenge Quests in the game

 

On every level, there is a series of objectives that need to be completed. You can check what needs to be done by pressing “Start” anytime during the level. Most of them are quite simple and requires you to collect every mug.  Although you do not have to collect the drawings. To complete all challenges (objectives) you will also need to complete the level without dying, to gain a perfect rating.

 

 

Questing Fiend - 50 points

Complete 66% of the Challenge Quests in the game

Questing Ogre - 80 points

Complete all the Challenge Quests in the game

 

See “Questing Rookie” achievement above.

 

 

For the Fridge - 30 points

Collect 33% of Coloring Book Pages in the game (Any Difficulty)

 

There is one in each level and they are hidden. They are not too hard to find if you stick to the tactic mentioned at the start of this guide. That is destroy every little thing you see!

 

There are only two books that I found a little tricky. The first one is in Level 3 (The Pirate Ship) It is in the first room, but you cannot see it. Once you switch back to Puss, you need to backtrack to the first room where you started. Then double-jump on the crates and move forward, towards the camera.

 

The second tricky one is on Level 17 (Rundown Streets) When you reach a firing cannon, make sure you destroy it quickly. Or it will destroy a double stacked pillar, you need to reach the Coloring Book page. You will need to do a  jump to reach it.

 

Upstart Artist - 40 points

Collect 66% of Coloring Book Pages in the game (Any Difficulty)

Art Collector - 50 points

Collect 100% of Coloring Book Pages in the game (Any Difficulty)

 

See “For The Fridge” achievement above.

 

 

The Finisher - 50 points

Perform 100 finishing moves

 

Whenever you see the “Y” symbol over an enemies head, press it to perform a finishing move. This will easily unlock, as doing a hundred  doesn’t take that long.

 

 

The Juggler - 40 points

Launch 50 Enemies into the air then catch them with Shrek

 

This is a little tricky at first. Charge your punch first, by pressing “B”, then follow the circle with the arrow and place yourself right underneath it. When the enemy falls nearing the ground, press “Y” to catch them.

 

 

Super Ogre - 30 points

Use Super Ogre Power 5 times with Shrek or Fiona

 

Pick up blue orbs to fill up your power bar, top left of your screen. Then press LT + RT to launch into Orge Power. This is similar to “The Matrix” slo-mo bullet sequence.

 

 

Super Ogre Power Extreme - 60 points

Use Super Ogre Power 10 times with any character

Novice Collector - 30 points

Collect 33% of all Souvenir Mugs in the game (Any Difficulty)

 

Every level has mugs to collect, however you can only track them from level to level. They are not hard to find, just smash everything. Remember to go to the edge of the screen in each area, in case they are hidden from sight. Once you have picked them up, the game saves your progress and there is no need to pick them up again.

 

 

Amateur Collector - 40 points

Collect 66% Souvenir Mugs in the game (Any Difficulty)

 

See “Novice Collector” achievement above.

 

 

Master Collector - 50 points

Collect all Souvenir Mugs in the game (Any Difficulty)

 

See “Novice Collector” achievement above.

 

 

Ice Dragon Tamer - 30 points

Defeat the Ice Dragon (Normal Difficulty or higher)

 

Story related and cannot be missed. To defeat her, you need to jump attack her and strike her in the head. As a tip, run along the top of the snow bank, counter-clockwise to regenerate your health. She can’t seem to hit you from up there.

 

 

Music Critic - 30 points

Defeat Captain Hook (Normal Difficulty or higher)

 

Story related and cannot be missed. Just destroy the cannons and the pirates Hook sends you, while he plays the piano. After about three waves of enemies, it is all over, as you do not fight Hook himself.

 

 

Upstaged Charming - 30 points

Defeat Prince Charming (Normal Difficulty or higher)

 

Just defeat the wave of enemies, until a cyclops appears. Jump attack the Cyclops and hit “B” while in the air to strike him. Eventually after the cyclops is defeated, Charming will come down to fight you. Some ropes appear on the stage. All you have to do is cut both ropes to free Shrek. Then do a finishing move on Charming.

 

 

The Collector - 60 points

Complete all of The Collector series of quests

 

You need to collect all the hooks, crowns, peg legs, etc. from every level. This also includes the mugs and coloring book pages.

 

 

 

Ogre Smash! - 30 points

Use Fairy Dust Attack 50 times with any character

 

This inludes using it only half full. A good place I found, was the level you are Fiona and you need Orge Power to open a door, while enemies continue to attack. Just keep attacking the enemies and forget about the door.  They continually re-spawn until you open the door.
