Hello again EX3A community, I hope this helps you in racking some quick and easy achievements in the arcade. This is the guide for Sonic the Hedgehog 3. It should take you about 1-3 hours beating the game, to get 175 points. For all of the Chaos Emeralds, it'll be about 3-5 hours.
ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE
Complete the Game - 25 points
Finish the game
Just go through and beat the game and you will unlock the achievement.
Wet and Wild - 15 points
Finish the Hydrocity Zone
Complete the 2nd level (Hydrocity Zone), both acts and you will have it.
Wet Feet - 15 points
Run across water
You'll get it on running through the second level when a machine sets you up. No need to try, you'll get it progressing through the level.
Marble Finishes - 15 points
Finish the Marble Garden Zone
Complete the 3rd level (Marble Zone Garden), both acts and the achievement is yours.
Fast Freeze - 25 points
Complete the Icecap Zone
Complete the 5th level in the game (Ice Cap zone), both acts and it's yours.
Chaotic - 10 points
Collect a Chaos Emerald
See Complete Chaos achievement below.
Complete Chaos - 25 points
Collect all seven Chaos Emeralds
Collect all 7 Chaos Emeralds in the game. They're hidden in the levels. Just search around and you will eventually get the giant ring. You have to go through and then save, so that if you mess up, you can go back.
When you go through the giant ring, you'll end up in a 3D world. AVOID RED BALLS and get all the blue balls. If you go in a square around the balls on the outer edge, when you do the inner balls will turn into rings you can pick up. When you get them all, the red balls fall off the globe and you get your Chaos Emerald. Do this 7 times and you got your achievement.
Points I - 10 points
Score 20,000 points
20,000 points needed. See Points III achievement below.
Points II - 15 points
Score 40,000 points
40,000 points needed. See Points III achievement below.
Points III - 25 points
Score 80,000 points
Just go through the game and get the Chaos Emeralds, you'll get it probably by the second Chaos Emeralds bonus level. The score for the achievement is 80,000 points.
Halfway there... - 10 points
Collect 50 rings
Collect 50 rings in any level.
Goodie Gumballs - 10 points
Get a blue gumball
When you get 50 rings, go to a checkpoint spinner and a red halo will swing. Jump in to it and you'll enter a bonus level. Keep using the jump tabs and spin the gumball machine until you get a blue gumball. Once you do, leave the level and the achievement will unlock.
