Site Donations Poll To Get Peoples Views

Dear All,

A few people have requested the ability to have a "Site Donation" feature, so that those who wish to contribute towards improving the site in ways like "Site migration" to dedicated servers, which in turn means more traffic through put, more members etc.

This would be on a voluntry basis only, nobody would be expected to donate anything. It is purely for those wishing to donate, and would consist of something like a "Paypal" button on the forum somewhere.

This poll is purely to see what peoples thoughts on this matter are:-

**I would like to just make a quick note, Slam is having his arm twisted here as many people think this would be a nice idea.**

2. No

I want to keep it simple, either a "Yes" or a "No"

For me, i personally voted yes. I feel for myself if i don't want to contribute i don't have to, but on the other hand if i would like better access to the site, more members etc i could help out.

100% yes i did post this in another thread, so i am really happy Dooney you went ahead and posted it up.
Slam i can understand he does not want to ask for donations, but dedicated servers updating the site all costs money.
It is our community we should make it bigger and better, if we can maybe even a little badge also for those who help out. Remember this would be totally on a voluntary basis, no pressure if you could give anything it would help. If you can't just be an active member on the site, nothing changes.
Think about your gamerscore without this site? It has helped me a lot.

I'm all for keeping this site alive in whatever way possible. The community here is exactly what I personally was looking for. The likes of ta.com or x360a are good but are subject to so much 'flamin' that it's a complete turn off, no sense of community at all (for me anyway).

I hope the site flourishes but never loses the spirit

I think it is a great idea. A friend and I tried running a site just like this and we had money issues along with trouble finding the time to do all the things we wanted. I don't think it would turn anyone away because it would be optional.

I vote yes i would gladly donate towards bettering the site. Would these donations also go toward prizes for site challenges? I think it should no since in making Slam pay for all that stuff he has started a great site here and the community is very strong not to much bickering. i think we should to show our appreciation!! I for one would have a lousy gamerscore if not for this site, When i joined i think i only had 3000 some odd points look at me now (still not on the first page though grumble grumble)

Did i not mention the "Terms & conditions" of the poll, votes for "no" need to be backed with a reason, its in the small print ... lmao

In the initial stages, i wouldn't rule anything out. Its a good idea putting the funds to use in all ways to support the site going fowards. One of the main reasons for wanting to have this feature is because there is a need to move the site to dedicated servers, which does carry a cost which Slam shouldn't have to fund.

Once thats done, and site traffic is no longer struggling due to current host, then i see no reason to not use funds for other purposes, that is purely my gut feeling.

I HONESTLY did not vote NO on this poll. In fact I still have the option to vote. I took a screen shot if you don't believe me!!
