I was thinking about this while playing skyrim, does good music make a game better, and do developer's really think about this as much as graphics and gameplay.Times do pop up while you are playing a game and the hair stands on the back of your neck, one that comes to mind is Condemned, the scary music made you turn that corner much slower cause you knew something was going to happen,id love to know do other members think about this and have an experience when they finish a game and taught the music made the game much better.
I went back through my memory which dont work to well after all the late nights, but i came up with my top five. First time putting the game in and hearing this i knew i was about to play something special. Heading across the wasteland this playing when the kill-cam kicked in for a headshot Palm trees flying by while getting chased by the cops (epic) Pesky dragons There is only one song you can crash a party to and thats Kanye west (power)

Great music can always make a game better. The one that has always been my fav is Incubus- Follow from Halo 2 in the Banshee battle.

One of my favorite compilation of tracks comes from Need for Speed Pro Street, I have been listening to it in the CD player of the car now for probably close on 4 years.... Did the same also for Undercover (didn't rate) and Hot Pursuit (had its moments)
Only thing is that when it comes on it makes me want to put the hammer down and leave some rubber on the road |

Yeah I agree 100% racing games if they have a pumping soundtrack I always race much better lol. Now even games like FIFA has had an amazing soundtrack over last few years.
Personally I love the atmosphere that is created with certain games, it gets you emersed and you lose yourself in the world. Here are a just a few that spring to mind in no particular order, probably think of lots more when my brain wakes up! Bioshock the old 20's / 30's music & art deco style just brilliant. Halo series Amosphere. Skyrim ^ Condemned ^ GTA radio stations just brilliant LA Noire ^ Need for Speed series pumping music burning rubber = faster Final fantasy series always top notch Gears 3 when Dom died, the song choice was perfect I almost cried. ^^^ Just for Blain lol ^^^

I think it does as well. For the guys on this site that have been playing for 30+ years can't deny rocking it to the Mario Bros theme music. I know it's not as advanced as today's games but this is where it started for me.
