 Til death...
I have been having alot of problems with My Elite as of lately. I have sent it in twice for the same problem when the problem occured for the third time i decided to throw it across the room to see if that would fix it (apparently not)
 So since i had already called about the problem they had sent me a box so i decided to scrape up all the little pieces and place them in the bag and placed a loving note on top of it filled with nothing but praise of this brilliant piece of technology  P.S. Don't worry trash i have a spare i can still do the Comp

On a side note when you do it make sure it is unplugged because that power brick really hurts when it hits you in the back

Ready to do the same to mine. Got it back November 6th from its first RROD only to have it do the same thing just over two months later. Guess it couldn't handle 720p. Might have to write a nasty letter as well to let them know where to put that console.

I've had my box for almost 3 years I think (It's one of the very first consoles) and it still hasn't red ringed on me. I guess I'm just insanely lucky lol

Must be lucky!!
I put off buying one for a few years thinking that the problem may get better. I finally bought it the day after thanksgiving of 2008 and by October 2009 it had the first failure. It was only manufactured in October 08 so it didn't even make it a year!

My box never red ringed, just the disc tray broke on me twice, and another time a metal rod broke in the back and it woudn't turn on.
