I thought I would start off the new year with some bad press for Kinect. Some users on Xbox Forums have reported that Kinect is giving out the old Red Ring Of Death. Who would have guessed that old chestnut would rear it's ugly head again?...

 

The Red Ring Of Death - three red ring lights - would only appear on the older generation Xbox 360 after the CPU overheated. Reports suggest now that they the red rings occur on the older Xbox 360 with Kinect connected.  This is Microsoft's way of subtlety saying there will be no Xbox 720 soon, just upgrade to our so-called slim model if you want to enjoy Kinect. By the way, Happy New Year from Microsoft.
