This time of year gamers are in a frenzy to pick up the latest titles off the store shelves.  However it is important that we remember that the holidays is a time where people are not as fortunate as us.  While many of us will mope over not getting in time to pick up a cheap Xbox from Walmart or getting to the store in time for that new feature release, it is a far cry from some of the hardship that those who have less than us suffer.

If you are not able to give any of your time or charity, there are actually many gaming sites that will make donations to charities like the red cross and the wounded soldier project for Facebook likes and if you follow them on Twitter.  Almost everyone has a Facebook or Twitter account these days, and it will only take you a second to follow your favorite games and gaming companies.  Sure it may seem like they are just try to buy twitter followers or facebook likes, but it costs you nothing, and if everybody does it they will make a sizeable donation to some great charities.

So this holiday season be sure to take a time and peruse the web for ways that you can help those who are not as fortunate.  We may think missing the midnight release of Call of Duty is a tragedy, but there are those who don't even have food or shelter let alone a game console.  So remember that there is much to be thankful for, and if you do have the time reach out to see how you can make a positive impact on the lives of those less fortunate.  Remember what goes around comes around, so try to spread as much holiday cheer this holiday season.
