Not sure if anyone may have seen this already but many of those online sports achievements are about to be made even more difficult. As if server shutdowns weren't bad enough EA is now starting one time use codes for accessing online content from there games. This means no more buying those cheep used games unless you are lucky enough to find a copy that hasn't had the code used and still has it with the game. Not surprising really they will offer the ability to buy access to online features from the live marketplace.

its not often i rant, but stealth taxing the second hand game market, COME ON EA you muppets.
Does that $10 mean you will stop shutting down your severs? "NO probably not"
So what are people actually paying for? "The ablility to play the game online, which would have already been costed in to the new price, after all only 1 person can play the original disc at once.
Im sure everyone will have mixed views on this, but i will never purchase any more titles from EA Sports until this is terminated.

I do buy games, but still.....Are we not ALREADY buying the online membership to Xbox as it is??? Now only certain ppl have to get these codes on top of their monthly membership to xbox.
This crap just aint right! Now I would feel bad if I sell my games b/c I know Ill be using my codes.......lol
This is bad news indeed, for rentals as well as pre-owned
I didn't even think of the rental aspect.
Another thought I just had is what about the games being made by Re spawn formerly Infinity Ward? Does this mean online codes for those too? I would assume so.

As it stands, its only the sports division but EA is EA right. So it would make sense for continuity that they run a uniform system.
Looks like i`ll be avoiding all EA titles if they take this stance, or until they stipulate that no further servers will be taken offline, since this $10 extra means you are now paying for a service...
Time for the people of the US to start a class action suit against them

People will still buy it, they know some of the hardcore fans will buy it and they'll milk it for what they can.

This really does suck, EA screw achievement hunters again. :P
So they expect us to pay for online use of a game (if we rent/buy 2nd hand) and they will still continue to shut down the game servers?
Also doesnt the microsoft rules about achievements state that "All regular disc-based games MUST have 1,000 Gamerscore in the base game. This means that any consumer who buys a retail game will have the opportunity to unlock the full 1,000 Gamerscore without having to pay for any add-on content"
Does this mean if i go out and buy a retail copy of Lord of the rings conquest or NBA live 07 im still able to get the full 1000GS?
