Microsoft CES 2011 Keynote news conference has just finished a few hours ago, and along with some very dull announcements. Nothing really worth waking up at 3 am in the morning for. You be the judge...

Avatar Kinect - Use the Kinect sensor to let your Avatar roam a virtual world similar to Home on the Playstation 3. You don't get an achievement for doing this cheap Matrix stunt and it will be treated as a Gold Live perk.

Netflix and Hulu Wipe - From mid-year,  use Kinect to choose movies on Netflix or Hulu by waving your hands .

Windows Phone 7 Games - Drumroll....Fable Coin Golf is coming to the Windows Phone 7 platform and this will be much like Fable Pub Games, where the gold you earn will be available in Fable III. The Game Room will also be heading to Windows Phone 7 although no details were given on how it will work. There was some other games announced, which I forgot.

Xbox Live House Party - Another Xbox Live House Party coming this February which will feature the games Torchlight and Beyond Good & Evil.

Kinect Units Sold - Here's something really dull. Kinect shipped out 8 million units in the first sixty days. That's seven and a half  million more than my bet at Ladbrokes (bookies)

50 Million Xbox 360 Sold - There are now 50 million Xbox 360 units sold with 30 million Xbox Live subscribers. You wonder what the other 20 million do without Live. They must enjoy playing split screen.

Ok enough is enough. Best to wait for E3 when some real ground breaking Xbox 360 news will be announced.
