ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE

Difficulty : 2 /10 - (playing hard 8/10)

Time to 900 : 20-25 hours (max 950 points)

Offline : 46

Online : Nil

Minimum Playthroughs : One (recommend 2)

Missable achievements : Almost all of them except for story progression, as they are required in one playthrough

Glitched achievements : Yes,  one, Master Chef. See guide below.

This game is very similar to Two Worlds however it suffers from a glitched achievement that makes getting the full thousand impossible and it looks like the developers are not going to patch it. Because of this one achievement, it makes the achievement for getting all achievements also unobtainable.

As this site is about easy achievements, then I suggest playing this for an easy 900 points by playing the one playthrough on Easy and then the second on Hard for the extra 50 points if you want to.

The reason is that Hard (Gothic Setting) is very hard and frustrating. You have to play the entire game from the start on Gothic and you cannot import a character. There are no enemy re-spawns so you need to find and attack a lot of enemies to level up and do every side quest. Enemies can attack in big packs and a well-placed strike from an enemy and you are dead. Headshots and flurries for the achievements are also very difficult on Gothic.

In contrast playing the game on Easy, the enemies and bosses are super lame, levelling up, finding collectibles, headshots and flurries is so much easier and you will probably never die. Take the 900 points and be done with it.

One final note is that this game has a point of No Return. Once you enter the last teleport, there is no way to return to any areas and collect any achievements you have missed, including weapon and kill achievements as they have to be done in one playthrough. See THIS POST on how to avoid this.

Once you have talked to the abbots at the Sea Cliff Monastery, you will unlock the achievement "Chosen by Fire and Shadow" (above). Your next objective is to reach the jungle. As soon as you leave the monastery - going down the mountain towards the Black Gorges -  look out for a man called Batur. You can't really miss him. He will give you a quest to look for a bag of vegetable seeds for his friend Jabo.

Keep going north in the Black Gorge and eventually you find the seeds a little to the west side of the gorge area.

Once you reach the jungle, head north and look out for Jabo. When you give Jabo the seeds, he will ask you to get rid of a guard dog. Kill the guard dog - which isn't really much of a guard dog - and the achievement will unlock after you go back and talk to Jabo.

INVENTORY ACHIEVEMENTS

Deft Hands - 5 points

Craft your first item

To be able to craft an item, you must first find a weapon scroll or recipe. There are plenty around in chests or you can buy one from a merchant. Once you have your scroll or recipe, go to your inventory slot (start button > press A) and search for your scroll. Click A to learn.

You now have the skill to craft an item. Press the start button again and this time got to Crafting. On your left you should see under "Equipment" your weapon scroll you have learnt or under "Alchemy & Food" any recipes you have learnt. If there is nothing under either, you have not learnt anything yet.

Select the scroll on your left and on your right it will tell you what ingredients you need. Click A and the achievement will unlock.

Weaponsmith - 20 points

Craft 5 weapons

You need a weapon scroll to be able to craft a weapon. The first one that I came across was in Tooshoo, "The Muck Wasp Arrow". I actually found it in a treasure chest high up in an apartment (not far from a Beliar artefact) inside the tree. However I think the chests are random, so it may not be up there when you look.

This Muck Wasp Arrow scroll is a good weapon scroll as it crafts five arrows - I think - and thus getting this achievement to unlock straight away. I only say this because when I used it once, the achievement unlocked.

If you unlucky yet to find it, then you will need to find five weapon scrolls. Once you have the scrolls, learn the scroll then go to the Equipment tab of Crafting. Anything created under Equipment counts.

Merchant - 20 points

Sell 200 items

See Richer Than Diego achievement below.

Richer than Diego - 20 points

Hoard 200, 000 pieces of gold

You need to have this amount all at once in your inventory.

To get this comfortably, I suggest you pick EVERYTHING and DO NOT buy anything for the whole game as there really is no need to. There is no limit to the amount you can carry so get in the habit of looting every enemy, including animals and picking up every plant you see. Search high and low for treasure chests as they can even be found anywhere, including in the middle of a forest and always select take all.

Then in the last area Thorniara - before you go to into the lighthouse with a teleporter to Xardas tower - head left past the lighthouse down a path. You need to go this way to pick up an Beliar artifact anyway. The path will lead you back to Thorniara. Kill the knight on the way down, as he has a key for the gate. Make a save and then go and sell everything you don't need to a merchant in Thornia. I had roughly 20K in gold before selling and made just over 210K.

You will also get the Merchant achievement above, if you have not done so already.

Glutton - 10 points

Consume 200 items

This includes everything you use or eat under Consumables in your inventory. Just reload the save you did for the Richer Than Diego achievement above, and use everything (press A) one after the other. You can use eat or use items even if you are at full health.

Alchemist - 20 points

Brew 50 potions or elixirs

Regardless of what the achievement description is, this is for crafting anything under "Alchemy & Food" in your Crafting menu, including Grilled Meat. If you have been collecting everything like I said not nailed down, then you should have an abundance of recipes and ingredients. See Deft Hand achievement above on how to craft.

Master Chef - 10 points

Learn all recipes

This achievement is GLITCHED and at the moment unobtainable.

The Alchemical Recipe for Minor Stamina Potion is glitched because when you try to learn it, it says "crafting plan already known" This also occurs on Alchemical Recipe for Minor Mana Potion and it looks like the developer has given the same ID number to the two recipes?

Considering that it costs a lot of money to submit a patch, many developers will not fix a game unless it is game breaking. So don't expect a fix soon.

COMBAT KILL ACHIEVEMENTS

First Blood - 5 points

Emerge victorious from your first battle

This will be the first achievement you will get as soon as you kill an enemy.

Chickenbane - 5 points

Kill 10 chickens in the game

Easy. There are plenty of chickens about in the first two areas. Some NPC will say something, but don't worry nothing happens.

Initiate - 5 points

Annihilate an enemy with a spell

You can get this when you first learn to cast spells and do the quest for Lyra to kill the bugs.

To enable to cast a spell, select the scroll she gives you in your inventory and allocate it to a position on your D-Pad. Once you have allocated it, press RB to cast the spell. You will notice it does not do too much damage at first, so will need to combine it with melee weapon strikes to kill it. Cast the spell and then melee the bug until barely enough health then cast the spell again to kill it, achievement unlocked.

Hunter - 5 points

Finish an enemy off with a well-placed shot

This achievement will come as you learn how to shoot a bow. In the quest, which happens in the first area, you will need to shoot deer with a bow and arrow. You need to click RT to select the bow, then click and hold RT again to draw. You need to wait until the three red dots light up in the center to indicate you have enough power to do damage and then let go of the RT to shoot.

Shoot the deer and the achievement unlocks.

Marksman - 20 points

Kill 100 enemies with ranged weapons

Using ranged weapons (bow and arrow) on this game is annoying and slow. See Hunter achievement above on how to shoot a bow and arrow. Note : Crossbows are different as there is no need to draw the weapon.

You can use the LT to aim, but I wouldn't recommend using it because of the Sniper achievement below. You probably want to get them around the same time.

Sniper - 20 points

Kill 100 enemies with headshots

This could take some time as taking headshots is not easy. You CANNOT use LT to aim for this achievement so you will need to aim exclusively for the head manually whenever you use a bow and arrow or crossbow.

Upgrade your Precision skill in your skill tree under Skills & Spells to increase damage to headshots. Or do as I did, and combine melee strikes and then the killing blow with a headshot. There are swamp monsters in Tooshoo that have really big heads that will help with this achievement.

Battlemage - 20 points

Kill 100 enemies with magic

To enable spells see "Initiate" achievement above. For your spells to give decent damage, upgrade your skill points in your skill tree under Skills & Spells. I personally would choose the Fire spell (Zeal) as it does the most damage.

If you prefer a melee character, there's no need to upgrade a mage skill too much, just to the second tier will be fine. You can combine kills with melee just as long as the final killing blow is with magic.

Killing 100 shouldn't take too long.

Arcane Reaper - 20 points

Kill 300 enemies with magic

Same as "Battlemage" achievement above obviously. If you have chosen to be a melee character, I would try to get this out of the way early in the game, so you can work on the other combat achievements.

Champion - 20 points

Kill 100 enemies with melee weapons

This will come naturally if you have chosen to be a melee character. Killing 100 shouldn't take too long.

Duelist - 20 points

Kill 100 enemies with flurries

A flurry is when you you unleash a combo of melee attacks. To enable flurries you need to upgrade your Discipline skill points in your skill tree to at least 1 point. Once you have upgraded, your melee weapon will glow after your first strike. Press X again to unleash a flurry. The killing blow must be a flurry or it will not count.

Tricky achievement as you have to get the timing right. Here's how I did it. I upgraded my Discipline skills up to the third tier to allow three flurries. Strike your enemy by pressing X once and watch your weapon swing back and glow. Immediately press X again and three flurries should kill most enemies.

Deadly Adversary - 20 points

Defeat 500 enemies

This will come naturally as you progress through the game as there are definitely more than 500 enemies you encounter. You do have to do this in one play through as it does not carry over if you start a new character but this shouldn't be a problem.

Army of One - 25 points

Defeat 1000 enemies

There should be more than 1000 enemies to kill and I received this achievement about two-thirds into the game. Just be aware that to level up easily, you will need to seek out enemies to kill by roaming every little corner of the map. The enemies do not re-spawn, so make sure you sweep every area. See Legend achievement below on levelling up.

LEVEL ACHIEVEMENTS

Awakened - 5 points

Reach Level 2

See Legend achievement below.

Greenhorn - 10 points

Reach Level 5

See Legend achievement below.

Adventurer - 20 points

Reach Level 10

See Legend achievement below.

Veteran - 40 points

Reach Level 20

See Legend achievement below.

Legend - 20 points

Reach Level 30

To reach Level 30 you need 377,168 XP. You will only reach Level 30 just before the final boss fight.

After exhaustively sweeping every corner of each map and completing every quest line possible, I still only managed to get only to reach Level 29 at 345,000 XP just before entering the point of no return. (Read this post about the point of no return)

To make sure you get this achievement, you will need to get to Level 29 with at least a third of your experience bar filled before you enter the Northern Lighthouse in Thorniara to teleport to Xardas Tower, for the last cave run.

Before you get there, make sure you exhaust all quest lines in every area. Some major quests have multiple solutions to complete them. Accept and explore each option to gain as much experience as possible then only hand in your preferred option.

Remember enemies do not re-spawn, so explore every little corner of each map and cave for hidden enemies.

Note : The final boss at the end only gives 160 XP (why??) so you need to reach Level 30 before then. Don't worry the last cave run is full of high enemies and bosses.

Conqueror - 50 points

Complete the game on the hardest difficulty level

This is for completing the game on Gothic. You need to complete the whole game from the start on Gothic as you can not import a character or inventory from a previous game.

This difficulty is very frustrating and demanding. Enemies can attack in packs leaving very little room to defend. If you intend playing right from the start on Gothic, you will have a challenge on your hands trying to do all the other achievements.

That said, here are some tips that might make it easier.

You can run away from enemies and bosses and eventually they stop following you. Once you are not in combat, save the game. Most enemies do not regenerate their health and you can go back and finish them off.

You also can run past some enemies, especially in the underground caves, avoiding combat all together. Of course you won't level up doing this and you may get stuck later on the harder bosses.

Knight in Shining Armor - 10 points

Complete all quests

In spite of what the description says, I received this achievement once I reached the Temple where you find the ancient forge, which is two thirds into the game. I unlocked the achievement "Forged By Destiny" also.

Since I completed most quests up to this point, I think this achievement is for completing a certain number of quests or the majority of them.

Geek - 40 points

Obtain all other achievements

Suffice to say this achievement at the moment is unobtainable because "Master Chef" achievement is glitched.

Jackrabbit - 10 points

Jump 1000 Times

Just press the B button to jump 1000 times. Keep pressing it whenever you are running and you will soon get it.

Relaxed Attitude - 10 points

Use beds or chairs for 60 minutes

Find a bed or chair and then press A to use. Go away for an hour and the come back and the achievement will unlock. You could break it up into smaller times and it will still unlock.

Explorer - 20 points

Cover more than 50Km on foot

This is easily done and will naturally unlock as the only mode of transport is walking.

COLLECTIBLES

Ancient Treasure - 25 points

Obtain all ancient relics

All these collectibles can be easily missed and they are not easy to see either. On top of that, there is a point of no return in the game and also an extra area that will close off completely once you transverse to Thorniara. PLEASE READ this post about this.

You need to pay close attention to the guides at this post HERE and make sure you have 29 of each collectible before you reach the point of no return. Credit goes to HaKaShi at Jowood forums for the maps and to Shini1984 for the videos.

Ancient Relics - This quest is automatically given to you by Gromar in the very first area Feshyr.

Innos Statues - When you go and talk to Daranis at the Cleaved Maiden, on the table he is sitting at is a scroll with the quest.

Beliar Artefacts - Same as Innos statue above, another scroll on the table with the quest.

Note : There is also a quest called The Forgotten Graves. Completely ignore this quest as it has nothing to do with achievements and you do not get any XP for completing it. In fact the only reward is one gold.

Radiant Blessing - 25 points

Obtain all Innos statuettes

See Ancient Treasure achievement above.

Dark Reward - 25 points

Obtain all Beliar artifacts

See Ancient Treasure achievement above.
