Hey everyone, this is an achievement guide for Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader in the Xbox Live Arcade. There is a guide for the full game also, so don't get these two confused. This game is not all that tough but a few achievements require a bit of luck.
ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE
You're a Star - 10 points
Collect 1 Extra Credit Star
Each single player game you will get two extra credit questions. To get the star, you have to answer the question correctly obviously, and you can't use any of your cheats. Just answer one correct and the achievement is yours.
30 Stars - 20 points
Collect 30 Extra Credit Stars
Just like the first one, but you need 30 for this one. Keep playing single player games and answering the extra credit questions correctly with no cheats and you will get there eventually.
70 Stars - 30 points
Collect 70 Extra Credit Stars
This game is not tough, but some of the achievements are very repetitive and take some time. Just like the 30 star achievement, keep playing single players games until you have 70 extra credit stars. You will get there eventually.
Super Star - 50 points
Collect all of the Extra Credit stars
There are 105 total Extra Credit stars. Each of the 21 subjects have 5. You have to get all 5 stars for all 21 subjects for this achievement. Like I said repetitive and tedious. Remember, no cheats or it doesn't count.
Smart Alec - 10 points
Get 500 answers correct
Another achievement that might take some time, but if you get all of the extra credit stars you should be well on your way to 500 questions correct, so just keep at it in single player games and you should get this achievement before too long.
Fast Fingers - 10 points
Get an answer correct in under 3 seconds
Like I said before I even started the guide, some achievements require a bit of luck. For this one, chances are you won't be able to read a question and all of the answer choices in under 3 seconds, so just guess. You may get a lot of them wrong in a row and fail out a time or two, but that is the only way to get this achievement in my opinion.
Close Call - 10 points
Peek at your classmate's paper but don't follow
Looking at the description would lead someone to believe that you could just look at their answer and choose something else whether they were right or not. That is not the case, you have to look at their answer, and choose a different answer that is correct. The best way to get this is to look at your classmate's favorite subjects, and choose a subject that isn't one of his favorites. Chances are he will get it wrong and as long as you get it right the achievement is all yours.
Smarter Than a 5th Grader - 20 points
Win One Million Dollars in any game
This is one of the easier achievements in the game. Just answer all 10 of the questions right and then the last question for the million dollars correct. A few tips to make this achievement easier is to make sure you see what subjects are your classmates favorites because you may need to use your cheats. If you have a computer next to your Xbox, you could always just pause the game and use the internet too if your in fact, not smarter than a 5th grader and need help.
Teachers Pet - 15 points
Win One Million Dollars without cheating
Just don't use any of your cheats and answer the 10 multiple choice and the last question correctly and you get the achievement. Like I said before if you don't know the answer, use the internet.
Ego Trip - 15 points
Win One Million Dollars in under 5 minutes
Bad part about this achievement is the timer still runs when you pause the game. Everything else counts too such as the host and the 5th graders talking so skip as much as you can by pressing "A" a lot. Choose the harder questions first so if you get any wrong then just start over with another game.
Big Win - 5 points
Come first in a multiplayer game
Pretty easy, just win a multiplayer game. The only bad part of this achievement is that if your opponents drop out early, you don't get the win. So either get multiple controllers and play a local multiplayer, or hope the people online don't quit out early so you can get the win.
The Great Achievement Hunt - 5 points
For me to know and you to find out
You get this achievement for winning the million dollars on the host, Jeff Foxworthy's birthday which is September 6. It is currently October when I am writing this guide, so you can either wait 11 months, or you can set the date on your Xbox to September 6, make sure you don't sign in to Xbox Live, and then win the Million with the strategies I explained earlier.
