ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE & DIRECTION-ARY

Time To 1015 - 60 Hours approx.

Ease Of Game - 6/10 (Manageable, patience required)

Number Of Playthroughs Required - 1 (but two are STRONGLY recommended)

Total Number Of People Needed To Boost Online Achievements - no online achievements

Notes:

In order to get the full 1015 on this game you will need the DLC pack Cerebrus Network (this link is for the U.S. version of the DLC, check your country's marketplace for region specific DLCs). If you bought this game new at retail a free copy for the DLC is included, otherwise it will cost you 1200 MSP off the Xbox Live marketplace

With the DLC you can also download the Normandy Crash Site mission for free, which is very easy and will give you some quick experience and resources

Another free Cerebrus Network DLC download is the Arc Projector Heavy Weapon, which you can use to get a kill towards the Man At Arms achievement

I'll try to avoid spoilers as much as possible, but be warned some are unavoidable

All your stats such as kills and power usage are tracked across all playthroughs. You should get all the kill related achievements in one playthrough but if not don't worry, you'll definitely have them all by the second

This game is somewhat the opposite of the first Mass Effect, most of the achievements are much easier to earn but the difficulty of the game itself has gone up considerably in parts

Beginning The Game

01. The optimal way to start Mass Effect 2 is with a completed save file from Mass Effect 1 in which you had a Level 60 character who beat the game on Insanity. This will give you a nice level and resource boost when you begin Mass Effect 2

02. If you're starting Mass Effect 2 without a Mass Effect 1 save file, it means you'll be doing more exploring the galaxy to level up and gain more resources. This is not a major problem at all however

03. For your first playthrough, start a game on CASUAL difficulty. You can select difficulty from the Options menu before beginning the game, but the second you first get to walk around with your character double check to make sure it's on Casual. Don't change the difficulty ever on this playthrough

Note: if you import a Mass Effect 1 character, you can start a game on Insanity and try to get all the achievements in one playthrough but I recommend against this as Insanity is very rough for a first play

04. As you begin the game, your mission is to get your crew to safety as the ship falls apart. Completing this mission will earn you the Missing In Action achievement

05. After this you will get to select what Class you want your character to be. For this playthrough I recommend an Adept (if you prefer to use powers) or Soldier (if you prefer to use weapons)

Cerebrus Lab

01. Your next mission requires you to escape the medical complex you awake in. During this mission you will receive your first Heavy Weapon: the M-100 Grenade Launcher, which getting a kill with counts towards the Master At Arms achievement

02. Make sure every time you can examine something in the environment, do so as doing this on 15 different things will earn you codex entries for the Scholar achievement. You can also get codex entries during conversations. You will naturally get this achievement over the course of the game

03. Every time you have a conversation, always keep your answers either kind (the Paragon route) or cruel (the Renegade route). Whichever way you answer will increase your Paragon or Renegade meter, which will open up new conversation choices and ways to influence people. You want to get this as high as possible as fast as you can because it makes certain missions much easier. There are also moments during conversations a trigger will pop up on screen to make a Paragon or Renegade decisions, so don't set your controller down during these because they only stay on screen for a few seconds. I strongly recommend you do this playthrough as a Paragon

04. From your first battle, always go for headshots when possible as they will kill enemies faster. Getting 30 kills via headshot will earn you the Head Hunter achievement. Note you can only get this on humanoid or robot targets, but there's hundreds in the game so you will have this very early on

05. Once you meet your first teammate, Jacob, have him use his Pull biotic power to knock enemies of ledges wherever possible. As long as they scream as they fall off a ledge, this will count towards the Merciless achievement which requires you to make 20 enemies scream. You can also set them on fire with later teammate's biotic powers to get this as well.

06. Upon escaping, you will be in a room where you are told to enter a door to meet the Illusive Man. On the way to the door is a panel with a floating Armour Icon on it. Activate this to change your armour and earn the Fashionista achievement. Upon talking to the Illusive Man you will get the Very Elusive achievement

Freedom's Progress

01. A very straight forward mission requiring you to investigate what happened to the colony. You will want to learn how to manage your squadmates, such as telling them when to use powers and when to stay in cover. This is an essential thing to learn, as without your team you don't stand a chance

02. Some mechanical enemies here will have a yellow shield bar on top of their red health bar. You can use Miranda's Overload power to take out these shields, doing this 25 times will earn you the Overload Specialist achievement

03. Another kill related achievement to work on here is Tactician, which requires you to hit 20 different enemies with a combination of biotic powers. Use Jacob's Pull and Miranda's Warp on the airbourne enemy to get started on this achievement

The Normandy

01. On your new ship, examine the Captain's Terminal. There are three combat tutorial videos, watching them all gets you the Highly Trained achievement

02. Explore the ship and talk to everyone to earn codex entries and sidequests, but there isn't much yet since you haven't recruited teammates yet

03. Something to keep in mind as you play is the Paramour achievement. This requires you to romance one of your fellow teammates.

A male Shepard can romance:

- Miranda

- Jack

- The Quarian

A female Shepard can romance:

- Jacob

- Archangel

- The Assassin

At this point your only options are Miranda or Jacob. If one of these are the person you want to romance, start talking to them now and keep flirting with them until they start warming up to you. After every major mission, recruiting mission, or loyalty mission talk to them to work on your relationship

04. Make sure when you talk to Miranda, ask her about ship upgrades. She will give you schematics for upgrading the ship's mineral scanner, which will let you scan planets faster. Build the upgrade when you have enough minerals, which you should give priority too since this will speed up mining for you

05. Make sure when you talk to Jacob, ask him about ship upgrades. He will give you schematics for upgrading the ship's armour, which is essential to a later achievement. Build the upgrade when you have enough minerals

Omega

01. Your next mission is to head to Omega to recruit Mordin Solus, a scientist you need very badly on your team. Upon landing on Omega if you have the Cerebrus DLC, you will recruit the mercenary Zaeed who is standing outside your ship. After that go to the nightclub there and meet the owner to learn more about Mordin as well as another team recruit The Archangel

Note: On Omega, you can buy various weapon upgrades towards the Weapon Specialist achievement, which requires you to get seven upgrades on one weapon. You will also find free upgrades during missions

02. Mordin operates a clinic in the Quarantined Zone, you will have to fight your way there. As you make your way, make sure you explore all rooms for credits and resources. Also keep an eye out for technology upgrades schematics, which you need to upgrade your weapons. When you enter the clinic, Mordin will give you a new objective. Completing this will make him join your team for The Professor achievement

The Normandy

01. Now with Mordin on your team, you can access the science lab. Use the terminal in there to make an upgrade for the Scientist achievement. Also make sure to talk to Mordin, he will give you a schematic to upgrade his powers

Note: Keep checking the terminal, as certain upgrades only become available after you've discovered upgrades during missions

02. Now that you have Mordin, I strongly suggest always having your team be him and Miranda. You will want to use his Incinerate power on enemies with armour, as doing this 25 times earns you the Incineration Specialist achievement

Omega

01. Return to Omega and begin the mission to recruit Archangel. After fighting your way to him, he agrees to join. To complete the mission you will have to fight off several waves of enemies and close three giant shutters around the base. After closing the third shutter, return to Archangel and fight off a couple more waves for The Archangel achievement

02. On the ship, make sure you talk to Archangel about ship upgrades. He will give you schematics for upgrading the ship's weapons, which is essential to a later achievement. Build the upgrade when you have enough minerals

Note: if you're a female Shepard and want to get the romance achievement with Archangel, start flirting with him now and after every mission

Jack

01. Head to the prison ship Purgatory and complete the mission there to recruit Jack and for The Convict achievement

Note: if you're a male Shepard and want to get the romance achievement with Jack, start flirting with her now and after every mission

The Krogan

01. Head to the junkyard world Korlus and complete the mission there to get possession of a krogan alien asleep in a statis chamber. Upon returning to the ship you have the choice of opening the chamber or not, open it to recruit the krogan and get The Krogan achievement

Horizon

01. At this point the Illusive Man will let you know he wants to meet you in the ship's conference room. Don't go into the room until you're ready to begin the mission because it'll start it immediately

02. On Horizon, you will meet a new kind of enemy: the Collectors. They are protected by a blue Biotic Shield bar on top of their health bar, use Miranda's Warp power to take out 25 of these for the Warp Specialist achievement

03. In addition to them, you will meet an old enemy: the Husk, which is essentially a zombie. Every time you see one low on health, run up to it and press the Melee button to attack and then shoot it as it is staggering back to kill it. Doing this 20 times earns you the Brawler achievement

04. Explore the colony as you fight the aliens. You will find the Collector Particle Beam during this mission, which is the best Heavy Weapon in the game and a kill with it will go towards the Master At Arms achievement. Upon completing the mission you will get the Colony Defense achievement

Note: after this mission on your ship you will begin to get messages from your teammates asking you to go see them. These will trigger loyalty missions which you will need to do to get the full 1015 in the game, but ignore these messages for now

Zaeed

01. The "Price of Revenge" is the first of many Loyalty missions we will be doing. Completing these will earn the loyalty of a teammate which will grant them another power and is ESSENTIAL to completing the last mission of the game.

02. In order to complete this mission as a Paragon, you will need a high Paragon rating which you should have by now as long as you've been making Paragon choices. If you want to complete it as a Renegade your rating won't matter, but you will miss a Heavy Weapon if you go this route

03. Make a save file before heading to Zorya to start the mission. As you proceed, you are given the the option to pursue your target or save the refinery workers there. Since you should have a high Paragon rating, choose the save the workers. This will also earn you the M-451 Firestorm Heavy Weapon, which getting a kill with counts towards the Man At Arms achievement

04. The mission can end two different ways. If you chose to pursue the target, upon killing him you will get the Revenge! achievement and Zaeed's loyalty. If you chose to save the workers the target will escape and Zaeed will be very mad at you. Use your Paragon dialogue options to talk him down and you will still earn the achievement and his loyalty. Just in case your Paragon rating wasn't high enough load the save point you created before starting this mission and do it later when your Paragon rating is higher, but this is very unlikely if you've been making Paragon choices up to this point

Normandy

01. By now you should have found or purchased enough technology upgrades to research to get the Technician achievement, which requires you to have 10 of them. You should have enough resources to build more Heavy Weapons (the ML-77 Missile Launcher, the M-622 Avalanche, and the M-920 Cain), getting kills with them will finally earn you the Master At Arms achievement. Any DLC Heavy Weapons you've downloaded and gotten a kill with will also count towards the Master At Arms achievement.

02. Also by now you should have enough experience to level up one of your abilities to the fourth level, which will grant you the Power Full achievement. When you hit level 4 of a power, it will give you the choice of evolving it to either a more powerful version or a version that will affect more enemies at once. I recommend always choosing the more powerful version of the power

03. Before heading out to recruit more teammates or do Loyalty missions, this is a good time to begin working on the sidequests you've been accumulating. These will gain you experience points, credits, and resources you will all need to complete the game

04. Exploring the universe is something you should also do now. Find a galaxy that you haven't gone to yet and visit all the planets there for the Explorer achievement. Orbit a planet, scan it, and harvest resources there for the Prospector achievement

Note: Scanning planets is the primary way to earn resources in the game, which you use to upgrade your ship, characters, and weapons. This is essential to getting all achievements in the game, so prepare to scan a LOT of planets as you will need huge quantities of resources to upgrade everything vital. Something you will want to do to speed this up is talk to Miranda, who will give you the schematics to upgrade your Scanner so it will scan planets much faster

05. As you explore the universe, you will come across planets that have an anomaly on them. Scanning the anomaly and landing on the planet will begin another sidequest. Upon completing your first one you will get the Operative achievement. Finishing four more of these type of missions will earn you the Agent achievement. The Normandy Crash Site DLC shows up as an anomaly when you scan its planet but this doesn't count towards the achievement

Note: If you're having problems finding planets with side missions, the Mass Effect 2 Wiki has a complete list of them

The Justicar

01. After you've had your fill of side missions and mining, head to Illium to begin recruiting again. First up should be the Justicar, who you will have to find out about from the Information Broker that works there. Also be sure to ask the Broker about another recruit, the Assassin, while you're there. When you find the Justicar she will ask you to find some evidence for her. Once you complete that mission she will join and you'll get The Justicar achievement

Note: On Illium, you can buy various weapon upgrades towards the Weapon Specialist achievement

The Assassin

01. Still on Illium after recruiting the Justicar, start the mission to recruit the Assassin. You will get The Assassin when he joins

Note: if you're a female Shepard and want to get the romance achievement with the Assassin, start flirting with him now and after every mission

The Quarian

01. Head to Haestrom to recruit the last person on your list, the Quarian. This mission will involve taking down a giant robotic colossus, after which you will get a new teammate and The Quarian achievement

02. On the ship make sure you ask the Quarian about ship upgrades. She will give you schematics for upgrading the ship's shields, which are essential to a later achievement. Build the upgrade when you have enough minerals

Note: if you're a male Shepard and want to get the romance achievement with the Quarian, start flirting with her now and after every mission

The Collector Ship

01. Around this point you will get a message from the Illusive Man who has another mission for you. This will take you aboard a Collector Ship to investigate. At this point in the game you will get to choose another weapon to carry with you (if you picked Adept) or a new weapon type (if you picked Soldier). If you're an Adept, pick the assault rifle. If you're a Soldier, pick the advanced sniper rifle.

02. Explore the ship. You will have several battles ahead of you, upon escaping the ship the Ghost Ship achievement will unlock

Loyalty Missions

01. Now it's time to complete the loyalty missions for all the characters. Completing these will gain the loyalty of the character, which means they unlock a new power to use in battle but more importantly will stay alive during the Suicide Mission at the end of the game, which will earn you an achievement when your entire team survives it

Jacob's Loyalty Mission

01. Speak with Jacob, then go to 2715 Aeia and scan the planet to start his Loyalty Mission. No matter how it ends, you will earn his loyalty and the Ghost of the Father achievement

Note: Despite this scanning as an Anamoly, this doesn't count towards your five Agent missions

Miranda's Loyalty Mission

01. Speak with Miranda, then go to Illium to start her Loyalty Mission. You have to rescue Miranda's sister to complete it, after doing so make sure you tell Miranda to go talk to her to gain Miranda's loyalty and the The Prodigal achievement

Mordin's Loyalty Mission

01. Speak with Mordin, then go to Tuchanka to start his Loyalty Mission. No matter how it ends, you will earn his loyalty and The Cure achievement

Jack's Loyalty Mission

01. Speak with Jack, then go to Pragia to start her Loyalty Mission. No matter how it ends, you will earn her loyalty and the Catharsis achievement

Miranda vs Jack

01. Upon completing Jack's Loyalty Mission, you will get a call on your ship Miranda and Jack are having a confrontation. You CANNOT side with either of them or else you will lose the loyalty of the person you sided against. Instead, use your Paragon or Renegade dialogue options to calm them both down and keep their loyalties

The Krogan's Loyalty Mission

01. Speak with the Krogan, then go to Tuchanka to start his Loyalty Mission. This one will involve you killing of several waves of enemies, the final wave is a giant thresher maw you have to take out for the Big Game Hunter achievement. You then have another battle, at the conclusion of which you will earn the Battlemaster achievement

Note: On Tuchanka you can buy various weapon upgrades towards the Weapon Specialist achievement

The Justicar's Loyalty Mission

01. Speak with the Justicar, then go to Omega to start her Loyalty Mission. This one will involve catching a killer, first head to the apartment of her latest victim. Listen to all the audio logs in the apartment and look at every piece of art you can in the room. From the audio logs you will learn a password you have to use to get into the VIP room at the Afterlife club

02. Make a save point here, as this part you only get one chance to make the correct actions to complete the mission. As you enter the club, talk to the man by the door to learn about a very popular band. You have a choice of six people in the club to talk to, making the correct response with two to three of them will trigger the next part of the mission

The bartender - offer to buy a round of drinks for everyone or persuade him to do so

Turian on the dancefloor - he is bothering one of the dancers, make him stop

Krogan at the bar - try to start a fight outside with him

Man named Horftin - he will ask you to say the words "terminal" and "eternity" to his boss. Say them to her in that order

Turian by the bar - insult him until a fight starts

Asari on the dancefloor - dance with her, making sure you don't say what a good dancer you are.

03. After you successfully complete a few of these interactions, the killer will approach you and talk to her. Discuss ONLY these things with her:

Art - talk about Vaenia

Music - talk about Expel 10

Drugs - talk about Hallex

Travel - say "I like danger"

Power - say "Power is its own reward"

04. The killer will now take you back to her apartment. Before you talk to her, be sure to scan the assault rifle on her wall for a weapon upgrade towards your Weapon Specialist achievement. Now talk to the killer, using your Paragon or Renegade dialogue options to resist her powers. At this point the Justicar will enter the room and attack the killer, you have the choice of which one to save. Save the Justicar to earn her loyalty and the Doppelganger achievement

Archangel's Loyalty Mission

01. Speak with Archangel, then go to the Citadel to start his Loyalty mission. No matter how it ends, you will earn his loyalty and the Fade Away achievement

Note: On Citadel, you can buy various weapon upgrades towards the Weapon Specialist achievement

The Assassin's Loyalty Mission

01. Speak with the Assassin, then go to the Citadel to start his Loyalty mission. Make a save point before you start, as this one can be failed and no loyalty gained. This mission requires you to follow a corrupt politican, making sure he never leaves your sight.

02. When you wind up in the politican's apartment, use the Paragon action when it pops up on the screen to difuse the situation properly. If the politician dies you will not gain the Assassin's loyalty. Once the mission is over you will get the Cat's in the Cradle achievement

The Quarian's Loyalty Mission

01. Speak with the Quarian, then go to the Valhallan Threshold to start her loyalty mission. This mission requires you to fight your way through a ship to gain evidence that will help the Quarian. Upon obtaining it, you return to the Threshold. In order to gain her loyalty, you must use your Paragon or Renegade dialogue options and NOT give up the evidence. This will get you the Treason achievement

The Reaper

Note: Travelling to the Reaper is more or less the point of no return in this game. DO NOT go here until you're satisfied you've done all the side missions and upgrades you wanted to get done. By now you should have gotten all seven upgrades on one weapon for the Weapon Specialist achievement

01. Head to the Reaper and battle your way through the ship until you get the objective you were searching for. You will also find an intact Geth robot, choose to take him back to the Normandy with you for the Friend or Foe achievement

02. Aboard the Normandy, reactive the Geth and he will join your team, taking the name Legion

Legion's Loyalty Mission

Note: you may have to travel to a few planets and scan for minerals before Legion messages you for help

01. Speak with Legion, then head to the Geth ship to start his loyalty mission. This mission requires getting to a datacore on the ship, where you have to make a certain decision. Either way you decide you will gain Legion's loyalty and the A House Divided achievement

The Quarian vs Legion

01. Upon completing Legion's Loyalty Mission, you will get a call on your ship the Quarian and Legion are having a confrontation. You CANNOT side with either of them or else you will lose the loyalty of the person you sided against. Instead, use your Paragon or Renegade dialogue options to calm them both down and keep their loyalties

The Suicide Mission

01. You are now ready for the endgame. Following this guide, you should have all of the following:

All teammates loyal

Ship upgrades: Heavy ship armour, Multicore shielding, and Thanix cannon

Your favourite weapons upgraded as much as you can

02. Access your travel map and travel to a few planets to mine until your ship tells you it needs to test the new systems and you should do your next mission with the shuttle. This will cause your entire team to leave the ship

03. You will now control Joker for a pseudo-stealth sequence, simply follow the lit path on the floor and keep out of the range of any aliens on your way to the ship's core.

04. Your team will now return to the ship, your next objective to go to the Omega 4 Relay. Make sure before you leave you equip the Particle Cannon Heavy Weapon. Head straight to the Omega 4 Relay for the Suicide Mission achievement. As long as you've successfully flirted with a fellow teammate, you will get the Paramour achievement during the trip to the Relay

05. Your ship will be attacked, but as long as you made the three aforementioned ship upgrades no one will die. After a battle with a Collector drone, you will land on their base. At this point you will have to split your team up, assign the team as follows:

Send Legion into the tunnels to hack the doors

Choose Archangel to lead the distraction team

Choose Miranda and Mordin as your fellow teammates

06. Make your way through the base, making sure you open all the valves along the way or else Legion will die. Upon opening the last valve and the door near it, you will reunite with your team. You will have to split up again, assign the team as follows:

Send Grunt to escort the crew back to the Normandy

Choose Archangel to lead the distraction team again

Choose the Justicar to be your biotic specialist

07. Continue on through the base until you meet up with the rest of your team again. Choose Miranda and Mordin to come with you, and enter the central chamber. You will have to fight through several waves of Collectors here, at which point the Illusive Man will contact you with some instructions. Answer how you wish, and get ready to fight the final boss. Simply aim for the exposed parts of its hands until it is defeated

08. The following achievements should unlock for you during the ending cutscenes:

Against All Odds

Long Service Medal (only if you imported a Mass Effect 1 character, if not we'll get this on our next playthrough)

Mission Accomplished

No One Left Behind (this achievement likes to take a very long time to pop, so don't get nervous if it doesn't unlock right away)

Note: it is very likely you will not have hit level 30 in this playthrough for the Power Gamer achievement unless you did every possible side mission. Not to worry, this will be covered below in the Insanity playthrough

The Insanity Playthrough

01. Start a new game on the Insanity difficulty. DO NOT import the character you just beat the Casual playthrough with, this will start all the enemies on the same level as you and on Insanity this is a extremely hard way to begin the game

02. If you have a Mass Effect 1 character, import them into this playthrough. You will start at Level 5 (as will your enemies) but this is much more manageable early on until you can start upgrading your character and weapons. If you do not have a Mass Effect 1 character, just start a new character and make sure they are a Soldier class this time.

03. Regardless if you start with a Mass Effect 1 import Shepard or a new one, since this is your second playthrough you will now get a 25% experience bonus each time you complete a mission. You will now easily hit level 30 in this playthrough for the Power Gamer achievement

04. Also for doing a second playthrough, you will start with a lot of extra credits and minerals. The best perk however is you get to choose a bonus ability for your Shepard, choose Warp Squad Ammo as this is the key to surviving the Insanity difficulty. Warp Squad Ammo gives your entire team weapons infused with the Warp power, this will let you tear through robots, shields, and biotic barriers to kill enemies a lot faster

05. As mentioned earlier, the difficulty of this game has been considerably increased from the first Mass Effect. Insanity now lives up to its name in parts, but with these keys you should have no problems surviving it for the final achievement:

- Always make sure your team has Warp Squad Ammo

- Do the Quarian's recruitment mission the second it becomes available, this mission is where you get the Sub-Machine Guns. These are the best weapons in the game to use on Insanity, as combining them with Warp Squad Ammo makes your team very overpowered

- Always stay in cover

- Keep a very close eye on your team to make sure they stay in cover as they like to run straight into enemies at times

- Take your time during a fight, battles will last much longer but you will stay alive this way

- Level up Shepard's Adrenaline Mode power as fast as you can, and then evolve it into lasting as long as possible. This will let you be able to line up headshots better so you can kill enemies faster

- Level up Miranda's Warp, Mordin's Incinerate, and the Assassin's Warp to their Heavy versions as fast as possible

- Always use a team of Miranda and Mordin unless stated otherwise below

- Always use the Collector Particle Cannon as your Heavy Weapon

- Work on upgrading Biotic Cooldown upgrades ahead of anything else, as you'll be using your teammates' biotic powers nonstop on this playthrough

- On Horizon and from there forward, when a Harbinger appears DO NOT kill it. Kill all the Collector drones around it, as it will jump to one of them if it is about to die and it'll get full health and shields

- Whenever you see Husks entering a battle, kill them first as they will charge you and on Insanity can easily kill you if they get within striking distance

Insanity Playthrough Tips

01. The part during Mordin's recruitment mission where you have to turn on both fans is a pain on Insanity. The key here is to get everyone in good cover and try to draw out the enemies one by one, picking them off as they come towards you. Shepard's Adrenaline Mode is essential here

02. During Archangel's recruitment mission, make sure you hack the Mech so it works for you and use the Renegade option on the alien trying to repair the gunship. When you have to go close the three shutters, take both your teammates with you as you'll need their help to get to the shutters. You are on a timer trying to close the shutters but don't let that throw you off your game, you still want to be cautious and take your time. Again, Adrenaline Mode is essential here for quick headshots to clear rooms faster

03. On Horizon after you meet the mechanic, you have a massive battle in the courtyard with Collectors, Husks, and a Scion. Just keep in cover and use your now familiar combination of Miranda's Warp, Mordin's Incinerate, and your Adrenaline Mode to stay alive. Kill the Husks first as they will charge you, then take out the Collectors and finally the Scion

04. On Horizon during the final part where you have to hack the communications tower, you will be attacked by Husks, Scions, and the Praetorian. The strategy to staying alive here is constantly be moving around the map in a circle, confusing the pathrunning of your enemies while you pick them off. It is highly likely your teammates will die during this part and you'll run out of Medi-Gel, but just keep going in a circle and you will survive this

05. The Collectors' Ship on Insanity is also a very challenging part of the game. There is a section with a Praetorian alien flying around shooting at you and a lot of Husks swarming at you. Send your teammates down into the center of the room in cover while you stay up high on the ramp and try to shoot down the Praetorian with your Collector Particle beam

06. The Reaper Core is a nightmare, as you have to destroy the Core while dealing with an infinitely spawning group of Husks. This is another part where your teammates will die and you'll run out of Medi-Gel, but just like on Horizon keep moving in circles (going up and down the stairs) while you wait for the Core to open and then blast it with your Collector Particle beam when it does

07. How you want to deal with the loyalty missions is up to you. If you're going for a speed playthrough, you can skip the missions for the Krogan, Jacob, Jack, the Quarian, and Zaeed but be advised they will very likely die if you do so during the Suicide Mission. Since you already have the achievement for your entire team surviving the mission this isn't that important, but keep in mind it will affect your story in Mass Effect 3 if you choose to import this character into it. Plus it's sad to see any of your team die

08. During the Suicide Mission, you now want a party of Miranda and the Assassin, as the dual combination of their Heavy Warp powers will be vital to taking out the numerous Collectors waiting to kill you. This time, send Mordin instead of Grunt to escort the crew back to the Normandy

09. Upon completing the game on Insanity you will get the Insanity achievement and the Long Service Medal achievement if you didn't import a character from Mass Effect 1. Congratulations, you now have the full 1015 in this game! Make sure you save both your Mass Effect 2 completed save files for upcoming Mass Effect 2 DLC and of course Mass Effect 3 in a couple of years!

DLC GUIDE & DIRECTION-ARY

It's official: Mass Effect 2 is following in the shoes of BioWare's other big RPG (Dragon Age Origins) and releasing costly DLC with tiny achievement scores. When all is said and done, these games could end up making Game Room look cheap if you want the full completion.

Kasumi - Stolen Memory

Time To 15g - 1 hour approx.

Ease Of Game - 1/10 (Extremely easy)

Number Of Playthroughs Required - 1

Begin by downloading this DLC here. As always, this link is for the U.S. version of the DLC, check your country's marketplace for region specific DLCs.

This is a very straightforward and linear DLC, it only has one achievement:

Broke, Blind and Bedlam - 15 points

Gain the loyalty of the thief

Which you will earn upon completing the DLC. Whatever choices you make do not matter, simply beating the DLC will earn you Kasumi's loyalty and the achievement

Overlord

Time To 25g - 2 hours approx.

Ease Of Game - 2/10 (Very Easy)

Number Of Playthroughs Required - 1

This is also a fairly straightforward and linear DLC, which you can download here. This DLC has on foot missions as well as vehicle sections, which involve combat and platforming.

Your first vehicle mission also has a collectible section, which if you miss a single one there is no way to backtrack and you'll have to do the entire DLC over again. However they are all pretty much out in the open and hard to miss, especially with the following Collectible Guide:

Towards the beginning of the DLC after you finish talking to the doctor in his lab, exit the room and board the Hammerhead. Go straight to leave the cave, and immediately turn right. Keep hugging the rocky wall until you encounter a metal platform with science equipment on it. When you get closer to it, two turrets will pop out and attack you. After defeating them search the platform to find Data Packet 1/6.

Turn around and start going back the way you came. You will see a path to the right, follow this straight to a waterfall that you can see through. Fly inside it to find a sealed door and Data Packet 2/6 to the left of the door.

Turn around and exit the waterfall. Fly right and keep hugging the rocky wall until you find another metal platform with two more turrets. Destroy them and find Data Packet 3/6 next to a six wheeled vehicle.

Turn around and fly right again, following the edge of the cliff. Keep following it until you find another platform with two more turrets. Take them out and find Data Packet 4/6 near the center of the platform

Turn around and fly right a little bit. You will come to a waterfall, this time turn left. Keep following the path until you come to an area with a waterfall beneath you with two YMIR mechs waiting to attack you. Defeat them and collect Data Packet 5/6 right next to the crashed ship.

Facing the crashed ship, fly left and follow the path until you are back above the waterfall. Following your waypoint, keep going straight. Ahead you will see a cave with an unguarded metal platform to the left. Collect Data Packet 6/6 here for the Data Hound achievement.

With the collecting done, finish out the DLC. Upon completing it you will unlock the achievement:

Digital Exorcist - 15 points

Successfully shut down the rogue VI in Project Overlord
